The band eventually broke up in 1996 and Bunbury started his solo career in 1997 with a techno album, Radical Sonora with his new band: Copi (piano), del Moran (bass), Ramón Gacias (drums) and former Héroes del Silencio guitarrist Alan Boguslavsky.
Recognized by his wish to always reinvent himself, Bunbury released in 1999 the album Pequeño, which sounded much different than anything he did before. His band also suffered changes, Boguslavsky was replaced by Rafa Domínguez, and the new faces, Ana Belén Estaje (violin), Luis Miguel Romero (percussion), Javier Iñigo, Javier García Vega & Antonio Ríos in the metal instruments.
This band was known as the "Huracán Ambulante" ("Rambling Hurricane") and recorded with Bunbury the rest of his solo discography, (except Antonio Ríos).
In 2005, after 8 years together, Bunbury dissolved the band and declared that will record a new album in 2006 only with his voice and a piano. Nevertheless, in early 2006 he recorded an album with spanish artist Nacho Vegas by the name of El tiempo de las cerezas.
His old band, Héroes del Silencio, reunited in 2007 for a short tour which visited Latin America, United States and Spain.

Enrique Bunbury Lyrics

Polen, fascinación
Polen, estado neutro
Polen, que acudes al centro
Polen, prolonga mi vida
Polen, para toda la vida
Polen, huidiza pendiente
Polen, el abismo de siempre
Y estos ojos quebrados de vidrio
Danzando como un tío vivo
Edredón de nubes trenzado en algodón
Enciende las luces, llévanos
Polen

Polen

The song revolves around the theme of pollen, which is depicted as having a reverberating and neutral effect that prolongs life but is also elusive and dangerous like an abyss. The opening lines "Polen, reverberación, Polen, fascinación" allude to the mesmerizing effect of pollen, which can create a reflective and haunting atmosphere that enchants both the listeners as well as the singer.
As the song progresses, we see the singer describe the beauty of the pollen that causes his broken eyes to dance like a tío vivo (a kind of Spanish carnival puppet). The description of an edredón de nubes trenzado en algodón (a quilt of clouds woven in cotton) further adds to the surreal and imaginative atmosphere created by the singer. The song ends with a repetition of the word "Polen," further emphasizing the hypnotic effect it has on the singer.
