I'm moving but I just can't find the way
Surrounded by a million faces
They all say, they're my best friends
Take another drink to hide the sorrow
But come the morning, nothing's changed
The concrete skies are rushing by me
I don't wanna wait until it's over
I don't wanna wait until it's gone
I can't wait until tomorrow
'Cause I been waiting for so long
So baby I'm coming home, oh oh
Baby I'm coming home
I heard the radio play your favorite song
Made me think of everything we used to do
There's so much we used to talk about
And now I can't, even I say "I miss you", no
I don't wanna wait until it's over
I don't wanna wait until it's gone
I can't wait until tomorrow
'Cause I been waiting for so long
So baby I'm coming home, oh oh
Baby I'm coming home
So turn around, just turn around
I don't wanna wait until it's over
I don't wanna wait until it's gone
I can't wait until tomorrow
'Cause I been waiting for so long
So baby I'm coming home, oh oh
Baby I'm coming home
Baby I'm coming home, oh oh
Baby I'm coming home
In "Coming Home," Enrique Iglesias speaks to the feelings of being lost and alone, while trying to find a way back to his roots. He describes a sense of detachment from his surroundings, citing "concrete skies" and "surrounded by a million faces." Despite drinking to hide the pain, the morning brings no change, and the road ahead seems endless.
The lyrics reveal a sense of longing for connection and familiarity. The mention of a favorite song brings back memories of shared experiences, and the desire to turn around and go home is a powerful motivator. The song speaks to the universal feelings of loneliness and disconnection that plague us all at times.
"Coming Home" is a melancholy exploration of the search for meaning and purpose, and the longing for connection that drives us all. The words of the song encourage us to remember our roots and to seek out the people and places that helped to shape us into the people we are today.
