Overall Meaning

Enya's Aniron is a mystical song that was composed for the movie The Lord of the Rings, and the lyrics are in a made-up language called Sindarin. The song captures the essence of the romance that transpires between Aragorn and Arwen, two of the most beloved characters in the movie. The first verse "O môr henion I dhû/Ely siriar, êl síla" is Sindarin for "From darkness I understand the night/Dreams flow, a star shines/Ah, I desire Evenstar." It depicts Aragorn's longing for Arwen, who he calls Evenstar, and the depth of his devotion to her.

The second verse "Tiro, Êl eria e môr/I 'lîr en êl luitha 'uren/Ai, Aníron," which means "Look, a star rises out of the darkness/The song of the star enchants my heart/Ah, I desire" further strengthens the emotional connection between Aragorn and Arwen. The song conveys the feeling of being lost in the wilderness, and how love can be a shining beacon of hope. The lyrics are accompanied by Enya's ethereal voice and harmonies that create a sense of enchantment and transport the listeners to Middle-earth.
