Good lad
I agree, that was an amazing bit of skill to manage to hop back and allow the ball to travel just that little bit further to get his foot on the end of it
Most players would have simply committed to the pull down touch looking for a second touch shot
Cantona knew the chance would be gone and the skill to shift back totally off balance to get that shot off was superb
I watched the match at the time on the box and it was poor but then right at the end Cantona pulls that off
I'm not a man utd fan btw (no bias)
I'm writing this as a football fan.

So many people underestimate how difficult it is to hit the ball with proper power and accuracy when it's so close to you. This is one the most amazing goals ever scored.
@splnt3r3dr3alty8
To move his body backwards, with the ball coming that close to him, hitting it cleanly and generate that much power
@adityaiyer92
The sheer balance required to pull off that goal is actually mind-boggling. Every single time I watch this video, my appreciation for the skill required for this grows.
Ooh Aah Cantona, indeed!

Absolutely, he was too close to it.. he backed up rapidly and struck ir wonderfully... that's some skill right there. One of the great goals, one of the goals that will never be forgotten... awesome player, awesome guy.
@chunkz1187
It's ridiculous that he can get any power on the ball while going backwards. You're right it gets better with every watch
@G2da123
I spoke to Cantona, he told me it was a fluke. That he trip and slipped and ticked the world. Alot like how united are doing currently. Don't worry, you've always got Maguire.
@ggmu567
Completely agree the technique required to hit a ball coming towards you normally is hard enough let alone a backwards spinning one and to do it without a touch is world class
@TheDavelister30
Still havent seen a player do this since, incredible volley
@BryanRobson89
Dave Lister oh so true in my eyes
