It never comes easily and when it does I'm already gone
I'm practically never still more likely to move until I end up alone at will
My life continues inching along
When Bernadette comes I get lost on her tide
She's much too sweet and she's always gonna be
When I return to her arms and her eyes
Okay it's alright with me some people are scared to see
What's happening frequently but I would never shy from a fight
Heartbeat with a high demand often will go hand in hand
But I'm sick of just starting plans I wanna spend the rest of my life
When Bernadette comes I get lost on her tide
She's much too sweet and she's always gonna be
And when I return to her arms and her eyes
It might not be the same but it's alright with me
It's alright wish me
It's alright with me
It's alright with me
It's alright wish me
It's alright with me
It's alright with me
Okay it's alright with me
Okay it's alright with me some things are just meant to be
It never comes easily and when it does I'm already gone
The lyrics to Eric Hutchinson's song OK It's Alright With Me convey a sense of acceptance and a willingness to move on from things that are not meant to be. The singer acknowledges that some things will never come easily, but he refuses to be scared and would never shy away from a fight. He also recognizes that he is an inherently restless person, always moving until he finds himself alone, and that his life continues to inch along.
The song is anchored by the recurring image of Bernadette, who appears to be a significant figure to the singer. He describes getting lost on her tide, suggesting that she exerts a powerful and irresistible pull on him. Despite acknowledging that things might not be the same upon his return, he is still willing to come back to her arms and her eyes, indicating a deep affection and a desire to keep her close.
Overall, the song seems to be about finding peace with life's inevitable changes and challenges. The singer is aware that some things are meant to be, while others are not, but he greets them all with a sense of calm acceptance.

I was shopping at Old Navy with my one-year-old daughter when this song came on over the speakers. In the middle of the store, she started dancing and ROCKING OUT, huge smile on her face, not a care in the world. As I sit here in quarantine missing life as usual, this is one of my favorite memories. Thank you.

Had the pleasure of seeing Eric Hutchinson in Seattle. I laughed at his backdrop (Eric Hutchinson is pretty good) and was hooked from the minute he sat down at the keyboard. I don't recall hearing any of his music before the concert last night (until he played this one and I don't know WHERE I heard this), but if you want a good show, great humor and someone who knows how to work the crowd and have you enjoying yourself, you HAVE to see Eric!
I wish you the best man! You deserve it! Great show! Come back as a headliner!
