Du Prez and Idle have often worked together for the music for Monty Python, most notably the score for Monty Python's The Meaning of Life and A Fish Called Wanda. They co-wrote the music for the stage musical Spamalot and the oratorio Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy).

I love how you can hear someone quietly going "What!?" when the fish, or I guess "fisch", are revealed. Really illustrates how out of nowhere this bit is and what makes it so damn funny. 🤣

The whole punchline of the sketch is that the people performing it are missing the point. So complaining about the details being wrong is you missing the point, because the point is that they didn't get anything right. D'oh. =)
