One Texan tipping his hat to another.
RIP SRV
@Peter-ff1tp
They were buddies! Both born in ‘54, like the Strat.
@icemax7
The most mature playing on an electric guitar I’ve ever seen. He’s a true legend
@theonetojump
Right? Not a single unneccesary note. Shredders could learn a thing or two from EJ, beside the best clean tone.
@mariaelenakunstmann2713
@@theonetojump you can play like this
With harmonics, hendrix flavor..and play fast.
@theonetojump
@@mariaelenakunstmann2713 Yeah, like EJ does.
Im talking about shredders who play fast just because they wanna show off their skill without sounding melodic => the most annoying thing to listen to.
@anton2417
A legend giving a tribute to a legend
@alessandro9740
@@theonetojump ej and andy timmons is the only guys who shred but doesn't sacrifice the melodic playing
i actually like yngwie too but sometimes he put unecessary fill in his playing

My brother let me borrow a cassette tape that had Eric Johnson concert footage, including this version of SRV. I was going through a divorce then, in 2000, and I must have watched this video and the "Manhattan" live video, a thousand times. For some reason these songs made the beer taste better at midnight and put me in a good mood during dark times back then. EJ became my favorite guitarist then and is still up there now. Long story short, it took me several years to pick and choose the right woman, but I found her. This video is still emotional for me, so thank you SO MUCH for posting this, G3VEVO!
@Rickscrux
Great story! You found the right woman because you were inspired by the right musician. Something magical in EJs playing.
