Every Minute
Eric Saade Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We wake up together, we messed up
Memories from last night
Can't find them, they're gone
Laughing at our problems like crazy
We can't stop
You don't wanna leave, wanna leave

Oh baby, yeah
We couldn't sleep, so we were up all night
Making each other blush, and that's all right
I got a feeling
You got a feeling, yeah, yeah

I love it in the morning
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I love it in the evening
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I love it every weekend
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I want it all, every minute
I love it in the morning
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I love it in the evening
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I love it every weekend
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I want it all, every minute

Ah yeah, ah yeah
Oh yeah
Ah yeah, ah yeah
Oh yeah
Ah yeah, ah yeah

I want it all, every minute

We don't speak, we're sweating
You know that
We might be too loud and my windows wide open
And all of my neighbors are sleeping
We don't care
We just wanna stay, wanna stay

Oh baby
We couldn't sleep, so we were up all night
Making each other blush, and that's all right
I got a feeling
You got a feeling, yeah, yeah

I love it in the morning
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I love it in the evening
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I love it every weekend
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I want it all, every minute
I love it in the morning
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I love it in the evening
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I love it every weekend
Oh na, na, na, na, na
I want it all, every minute, yeah

Ah yeah, ah yeah
Oh yeah
Ah yeah, ah yeah
Oh yeah
Ah yeah, ah yeah

I want it all, every minute

I love it every weekend (ah yeah, ah yeah)
Oh na, na, na, na, na (oh yeah)
Ah yeah, ah yeah
Every morning (oh yeah)

Ah yeah, ah yeah
You light up my dark every minute

As a swede myself, I really can't decide between Eric Saade or Tusse. I like them both, so I want to send the one who will perform better in ESC. "Voices" is probably the safe bet when it comes to get a good placement in the ESC final, but that is the thing: it is just a good song and not a freaking winner. The melody, the way the song is built, the staging, it has all been seen before, but with "Every Minute" all the things I previously mentioned are new.

From a foreign perspective I think all the other competing countries are tired of Sweden just sending good songs that aren't too spectacular. The international jury loves it, but as seen many times after our last two victories, the televoters aren't too kind when it comes to judging us anymore.

For example: (International jury placement vs Televoting placement)

2019 John Lundvik - "Too Late For Love": 2nd vs 9th
2018 Benjamin Ingrosso - "Dance You Off": 2nd vs 23th
2017 Robin Bengtsson - "I Can't Go On": 3th vs 8th
2016 Frans - "If I Were Sorry": 9th vs 6th

In my opinion "If I Were Sorry" was something new and refreshing, which the televoters really liked, whilst the jury didn't agree completely. The other three songs are typical radio pop songs, which the jury clearly liked, whilst the televoters were tired of it. This is also a trend that I have noticed for other countries, which is that the jury often like the better song with more quality no matter how many times it has been heard before, whilst the televoters want something new and interesting. That is why 'The Roop' is probably the hottest band in Eurovision right now, because they have this interesting new style combined with cool quality music. That is what it takes to win Eurovision Song Contest, and if I were to compare the best song to send to ESC between "Voices" and "Every Minute", I would probably pick Eric Saade as the winner.

Why do you ask?

Well, Tusse would get a high placement from the international jury, but the televoters wouldn't rate it as high just because it has been seen too many times before, hence it is not something special even if it is a good song. On the other hand, Eric Saade's song is a wildcard and it is too hard to predict how both the international jury and the televoters would welcome it, but since it is a good and unique song, I would predict that it would be highly rated, but with that extra chance to win the whole competition, which Tusse doesn't have.

Thank you for reading. Please share your thoughts on which Melodifestivalen song you think would take Eurovision with storm, and also which song you think will win Melodifestivalen. I actually think Tusse will win, but let's hope for Eric!

I am still sad Eric became second. This performance deserved to be presented in Rotterdam.

scorpioninpink

I want this guy to win MelFest again then win Eurovision for Sweden. He deserves it so much.

Kasia

this song can really win eurovision, not only is the staging impressive but this song stays in your head, you really can't get rid of it

McKarlsson

The staging? Really?

Kasia

um, yeah? sometimes it's better to have a solo staging than have a 10 dancers around

McKarlsson

@Kasia not when the dance is this awkward

NyfoL

@McKarlsson The stageing is unique and fitting for the pandemic approach in esc, idk why you find it awkward

Mapshader

@NyfoL but the song sucks in the lack of a real melody, it might work as a radio song, but gosh, those are not memorable in Eurovision. Why don't we send terrible hiphop/rap songs to eurovision since we're getting started with cheap radio/pop songs
