Erica Laura García is a singer, guitar player and song writer born in Palermo, Buenos Aires. In 1991 she forms the band "Mata Violeta" together with Karina Tamburini (drums) and Nancy González (bass). "Mata Violeta" splits up in 1995, and Erica launches her solo career. In 1997 she releases her first album, "El Cerebro", produced by Ricardo Mollo (Sumo, Divididos).
However, it is her second record, "La Bestia" the one that made Erica more popular in the argentinian rock scene. Specially, her song "Vete destino" was a hit and helped her get into other markets. She broke into the mainstream scene with her album "Amorama" (2001) and her single "Positiva".
After that she moved to Los Angeles (USA) from 2003 to 2010. There she devloped indie projects and released records, such as "Afternoon in the Bamboos" (2006, as Mountain Party) and "Lady Grave" (2006, as Lady Grave). In 2010 she returned to Buenos Aires and in 2014 she released her latest album, "Tango Vampiros".
Aside her solo career, she's participated in a number of acts and collaborations with different Argentinean and international numbers (Café Tacuba, Brazzaville, Divididos, Andrea Álvarez, Cienfuegos, Enrique Bunbury, Alejandro Lerner, etc.), gaining recognition over her vocal and guitar skills.

no vengas a mi
He quemado mi pasado, no hay ojos atrás
no intentes llegar, no podré escribir
He quemado mi pasado no hay ojos atrás
Y si quieren encontrarme vengan pronto a buscarme
The song "La Bestia" by Erica García is a powerful and intense piece that expresses the artist's feeling of being lost and adrift in life. The lyrics describe a person who is struggling to come to terms with their past and trying to move forward, but finding it difficult to let go of their memories and the pain that comes with them. The line "Las mañanas ponen rejas a la oscuridad" (The mornings put bars on the darkness) suggests that the person is trapped by their own emotions and unable to escape the endless cycle of pain and regret. They are warned not to come near the singer because they are the "bestia" (beast) that appears unexpectedly, representing the emotions that overwhelm and control them.
The lyrics also touch on the theme of change, as the singer notes that friends and roads can change without warning, leaving them feeling lost and unsure of where they are going. The lines "Los caminos se han dormido, no intentes llegar, no podré escribir" (The roads have fallen asleep, don't try to arrive, I won't be able to write) convey the idea that the singer is unable to move forward or express themselves creatively. Despite this, they love making music and sharing it with others, as expressed in the line "Si algo amo es hacer una canción, y dartela" (If there is something I love, it's making a song and giving it to you).
