Erica Laura García is a singer, guitar player and song writer born in Palermo, Buenos Aires. In 1991 she forms the band "Mata Violeta" together with Karina Tamburini (drums) and Nancy González (bass). "Mata Violeta" splits up in 1995, and Erica launches her solo career. In 1997 she releases her first album, "El Cerebro", produced by Ricardo Mollo (Sumo, Divididos).
However, it is her second record, "La Bestia" the one that made Erica more popular in the argentinian rock scene. Specially, her song "Vete destino" was a hit and helped her get into other markets. She broke into the mainstream scene with her album "Amorama" (2001) and her single "Positiva".
After that she moved to Los Angeles (USA) from 2003 to 2010. There she devloped indie projects and released records, such as "Afternoon in the Bamboos" (2006, as Mountain Party) and "Lady Grave" (2006, as Lady Grave). In 2010 she returned to Buenos Aires and in 2014 she released her latest album, "Tango Vampiros".
Aside her solo career, she's participated in a number of acts and collaborations with different Argentinean and international numbers (Café Tacuba, Brazzaville, Divididos, Andrea Álvarez, Cienfuegos, Enrique Bunbury, Alejandro Lerner, etc.), gaining recognition over her vocal and guitar skills.
Nada
Erica García Lyrics

pero cuánto hay que saber con él
nada, si las luces que no están alumbraban
el espacio donde luego de él no hay nada
Nada, más allá de éste momento no hay nada
Nada, aunque creas nunca podrás ver nada antes
Aman, las corolas, las abejas se aman
ellas saben que aman miel
es confuso el sentimiento cuando ya no hay nada
Nada, aunque creas nunca podrás ver nada antes
pasan las suturas y la vida no es nada
Nada, yo no cambio mis pasiones por nada
Nada, mi camino es la cornisa y la nada
Nada, más allá de este momento no hay nada
Nada, aunque creas nunca podrás ver nada antes.
The lyrics of Erica García's song Nada describe a sense of emptiness and confusion. The opening lines state "Nada, aunque vibres en tu cuerpo no hay nada" which translates to "Nothing, even though you vibrate in your body there is nothing." This suggests a feeling of numbness or detachment from one's physical sensations. The following lines "pero cuánto hay que saber con él" or "but how much one has to know with it" imply that despite this lack of feeling, there may still be knowledge or wisdom to be gained through the body.
The next verse continues the theme of nothingness, with the imagery of unlit lights in a space where there is nothing after. The lyrics also touch on the fleeting nature of life, stating "Nada, más allá de éste momento no hay nada" or "Nothing, beyond this moment there is nothing." The chorus repeats the idea that even if we believe there is something to be seen or felt, ultimately there may be nothing there.
The middle section of the song introduces a more hopeful tone, with references to the love between flowers and bees, and the desire to "twist the nightmare and turn it around." However, this positive sentiment is quickly undermined by the final two verses which once again emphasize the emptiness and meaninglessness of life.
Overall, the lyrics of Nada convey a sense of uncertainty and disillusionment. While there are brief moments of hope and beauty, they are ultimately overshadowed by a feeling of emptiness and confusion.
