Send Me Up A Sign

Just a little like signs I'd know
Send me up a sign (Send me up a sign)
Oh, I'm yours
Oh, you're mine
Dancing all my blues away
Just a little like old songs say
Oh, I'm yours
Oh, to lose
They don't know what I know
They don't see what I see
They don't comfort me
In the middle of the night
And tell me everything's all right
Send me up a sign (Send me up a sign)
Oh, I'm yours
Oh, you're mine
Send me up a sign when you get home
It's a little like throwing stones
Send me up a sign (Send me up a sign)
Oh, I'm yours
Oh, you're mine
Oh, I'm yours
Oh, you're mine
Oh, I'm yours
Oh, you're mine
In the song "Send Me Up a Sign," the singer is pleading with their love interest to communicate with them, even if it's just a small symbol or gesture. They want some reassurance that their relationship is still intact and that their partner still cares for them. The lyrics "Just a little like signs I'd know" and "It's a little like throwing stones" imply that the singer and their partner have their own significant symbols that they use to communicate with each other.
Furthermore, the chorus of "Send me up a sign, oh I'm yours, oh you're mine" showcases the deep connection the two share and how important it is for them to maintain that bond. The singer is also shown trying to alleviate their worries by "dancing all my blues away" which seems to be their way of coping with doubts and fears about their relationship.
The lines "They don't know what I know, they don't see what I see, they don't comfort me in the middle of the night, and tell me everything's all right" speak to the special intimacy the singer shares with their partner. They trust and confide in them in a way they can't with anyone else. Overall, the song portrays a deep emotional attachment between two individuals and the need for open communication and reassurance in a relationship.
