On her MAXJAZZ debut, Don't Take Your Time, Erin performed her personal take on tunes from the Great American Songbook, pop classics, and her first original song, "Don't Take Your Time." On her new album Over and Over, she adds more original songs and arrangements, further developing her own unique sensibility.
The Erin Bode Group have performed nationwide at venues such as Blues Alley in Washington D.C., Zanzibar Blue in Philadelphia, and at Sweet Rhythm in New York. They have also been in Europe twice, touring in Italy.

Something More
Erin Bode Lyrics

Reading up in all these books about communication lines
Am I wasting my time?
Am I wasting my time, writing superficial lines?
If I want to know what matters, do I have to read your mind?
Am I wasting my time?
Wasting my time, oh
Wasting my time, oh
Well, there's nothing more to say, I should end it here today
But this other matter, idle chatter's getting in the way
There's nothing more to say
And on any other day, you know if I could stay
No good time, no rhyme or reason, oh you know I'd have to play
Maybe on a rainy day
Am I wasting my time, oh
Wasting my time, oh
Wasting my time, oh
La la la la
La la la la
Well, there must be something more, something I've not had before
Is it waiting 'round the corner, or behind another door?
There must be something more
There must be something more, something wonderful in store
A fantiferous sensation that will knock me on the floor
There must be something more
Am I wasting my time, oh
Wasting my time, oh
Wasting my time, oh
La la la la

In this song, Erin Bode is questioning whether she is wasting her time in various aspects of her life. She wonders if her efforts to communicate effectively with others are futile and if she should just give up trying to read their minds. She also questions whether her writing is too superficial and if she should focus on what really matters. The repetition of the phrase "am I wasting my time" underscores her uncertainty and frustration with these issues.
Towards the end of the song, Bode acknowledges that there is "nothing more to say" about the current situation and she should move on. However, she still holds on to the hope that there is "something more" out there for her. She desires a new experience or sensation that will knock her off her feet and leave her in awe.
Overall, the lyrics of "Something More" convey a sense of existential questioning and a yearning for deeper meaning and purpose in life.
