Nel bordello metropolitano
Porta in giro soldi e stracci
Di ogni genere che sia umano
Quante acrobazie
Che conosce bene come le vie
Lui che sogna spesso di volare
All'aeroporto della sua città
Guido parla coi clienti
Storie brevi, storie di passaggio
Quella volta che una donna
Non aveva da pagare il viaggio
Quante vite, quante acrobazie
Che s'incrociano come le vie
C'è chi scorda sempre qualche cosa
Certe zone a quest'ora
Sono campi aperti di battaglia
Quanti trucchi, quante acrobazie
A braccia aperte sta
Sta
The lyrics to Eros Ramazzotti's song "Taxi Story" tell the story of Guido, a taxi driver in a bustling metropolis who transports all kinds of people and their belongings around the city. Despite the chaotic, dangerous atmosphere of the city, Guido dreams of flying and escaping from his current life. Through his conversations with passengers, Guido hears stories of desperation and hardship, but also of hope and possibility. As the clock ticks, Guido rushes from one fare to the next, navigating the streets with ease and agility.
The song's theme revolves around the idea of freedom, or lack thereof. Guido is constantly moving, but he is also trapped in his current situation. He longs to break free from his mundane routine and fly away to a new life. The lyrics are filled with imagery of flight and escape, as well as references to the harsh realities of life in a big city. The repetition of the phrase "quante acrobazie" (how many acrobatics) serves as a metaphor for the challenges and risks involved in living life on the edge.
Overall, "Taxi Story" is a poignant reflection on the complexities of urban life and the human desire for freedom and exploration.
