Yo Soy Tú
Eros Ramazzotti Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Es el mundo una ciudad
Un abrazo es como el agua
Es una necesidad
El egoísmo es la distancia
Como un río entre tú y yo
El amor nos da más miedo
Divididos por colores
Tú me reconocerás
He tomado solo otro camino
Dame tu mano
Let´s play to kill violence
Be the change and give the world a better change
We forget that shit turns into flowers
We forget that wood turns into violins
(yo soy tú)
Couldn´t we just play and forget the sorrow
You don´t need to beat your fellow man hollow
All I know is life´s something you borrow
Throw yourself into the flow I will follow
Cuando esperas que llueva para llorar
I just want you to play
Tell me, how do you play?
Yo soy tú
Baby, say that we can
Tú caminas solo, pero
Yo soy tú
Todos tenemos una razón, todos
Y nunca estamos solos si no queremos
Dame tu mano
The lyrics of "Yo Soy Tú" by Eros Ramazzotti are reflective and philosophical. The first verse talks about how every person is born from a mother and how the world is like a city. This is followed by the idea that human beings need an embrace just like they need water - it is a necessity. The verse then highlights the concept of selfishness that creates distance, like a river, between two individuals. The chorus compares the fear of love to the fear of war and how people are divided by colors but without any name or identity, "Yo soy tú," which means "I am you."
The second verse highlights the struggles of individuals when they feel helpless and alone. This is depicted by referencing the desire to cry when it rains and after one has completed all that they must do. The idea of being unable to decide when it is necessary to make a choice is also mentioned. The chorus follows, emphasizing the idea that even though one walks alone, there is someone else out there who thinks the same way, and we are all similar in our struggles. The final verses convey hope and how things can change if one believes and perseveres - this is symbolized by not raising a flag because ultimately, "Yo soy tú." The song ends with a plea for people to hold hands as we are all in this together.
