Lind released his first album, 'Mmm...Prepare to Be Swayed', in 1995 under the nickname Sway. The album was released only in his native country of Norway, and sold 10,000 copies. His big success came in the late 1997 with the single 'When Susannah Cries', taken from his album 'Red'. The song hit the charts in Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Brazil and many more countries around the world. The second single from Red is 'Lucky For You'. The album sold over 100,000 in Norway, becoming one of the most successful albums ever released there.
In 2000 Espen released the album 'This Is Pop Music' and the single 'Black Sunday'. He sang a duet with the Norwegian new age singer Sissel Kyrkjebo. The name of the song is 'Where the Lost Ones Go', and after the success in their country the single is released in the Netherlands.
After a long break he released the album 'April' in January 2005. The album contains the single 'Unloved' which was released some weeks before the album and stayed at the top position on the charts in Norway for six weeks. A few months later he released the song 'Look Like Her' as a radio single and the video for the song 'Million Miles Away'.
Espen Lind composes and writes the lyrics of all of his songs, as well as many songs for other artists such as the British singer Kym Marsh, Kurt Nilsen, Kjarten Salvesen, V and Atomic Kitten. His last single "Scared of Heights", released in May 2008, reached #1 on the Norwegian chart.
SWEET LOVE

That i ever found you
'cos you are one in a million
I'm more like one out of two
I'm not a catch i don't go for much
I've been played and i've been burned
But finally it's clear to me
I say love, sweet love
Love is raining down on me
I say love, sweet love
Love has finally found me
Well, it squeaks and moans and bitches
This wooden old floor
From the weight of friends who never
Come around here no more
But don't cry for me, don't you cry for me
'cos i'm happy as can be
You see, luck was a stranger, but now he's talking to me
I say love, sweet love
Love is raining down on me
I say love, sweet love
Love has finally found me
I say yeah...
Darling, sweet darling, everything is different
Darling, sweet darling, nothing taste the same
It's a whole new different game
I won't deny that my life had its share of strife
But i'm lucky as can be
Because mr. love was a loner, but now he's walking with me
I say love, sweet love
Love is raining down on me
I say love, sweet love
Love has finally found me
I say love, sweet love
Love is raining down on me
I say love, sweet love
I'm not worthy of thee
I'm not worthy of thee
The song "Sweet Love" by Espen Lind talks about the feeling of finally finding someone after a long period of loneliness and despair. The first verse emphasizes the rarity of this occurrence and how lucky the singer feels to have found this "one in a million" person. The second verse describes the singer's past experiences with relationships, which have been unfulfilling, but now things are different, and the singer feels like luck is on their side. The chorus repeats the phrase "love, sweet love" and describes how the singer feels loved and appreciated after a long time of feeling alone.
The third verse talks about the singer's surroundings and how they used to be filled with people who no longer visit. Despite this, the singer is happy because they have found love. The bridge emphasizes the difference love has made in the singer's life, how everything tastes different, and how they are playing a new game now. The final chorus repeats the phrase "love, sweet love" twice, and the last line acknowledges that the singer doesn't feel worthy of the love they have found.
Overall, the song has a very positive and upbeat feel to it, despite the hardships mentioned in the lyrics. It reminds us that love has the power to change our lives and bring happiness and fulfillment.
