Estúpida Erikah, a bunch of songs with their own history and their own soul, emotions presented like pieces of a heart, a broken one beating back again in every chord. That is how we can imagine this project when we listen to its songs. Since Lluis Boria’s solo debut (compositor, voice and guitar), Estúpida Erikah (EE) has grown up as a band on stage offering a convincing and much elaborated show. EE is now a six pack band with: Jordi Masana (bass and vocals), Xavi Carmona (drums and vocals), Magali Licari (vocals and melodica), Aleix Puig (violin and vocals) i Carles Sánchez (guitar). From last two decades of international indie music they have arranged solid music basics of folk, rock and pop. The just released first album, "Decorant interiors, decorant exteriors" Temps Record, tell us about reality from the sincerity of whom speaks directly from deep of the heart. Songs about loss and also pleasant ones from the every day experience; epic crescendos where the whispers become harsh-like voice shouts. A band that give us not only unforgettable moments on stage but also amazing home times on plastic. Their references are Micah P. Hinson, Arab Strap, Low, Tom Waits, Smog, Johnny Cash, Tindersticks, among others. They do not feel overwhelmed for these references on the contrary those let them spread out their talent. Even though, we haven’t found any clue yet among their songs of who is their mysterious muse Erikah and the spirit of her stupidness. We will wait and see.
