I was outside smoking in Leeds at a random hotel and I happened to bump into this band after they had just finished a concert, never heard of them until they mentioned their music, decided to give it a listen and I'm super impressed, amazing music! Though for some knowledgeable ears this band might have an early Savatage sound and an early pounding Manowar feel to it, this band has a different sound and more importantly, the songs are totally original as I've never heard such arragements before from any band. And the vocalist really helps to distinguish it from others, quite unique vocals making Eternal Champion what it is instead of just another band. They are very dynamic with their metal approach as it is not easy to create original songs nowadays, especially an entire album.

I have a pair of those knowledgeable ears. I couldn't help but hear Jon Oliva in those staccato shrieks of the opening song. And the beat of the kick drum in that song definitely screamed Manowar. But they could definitely pick worse influences. And they are far from a copycat, very original style overall.

The older I get, the more I realize how wide-ranging Savatage's influence has been with many of the bands I love. This album has a lot of similarity in some of the guitar tone as Dawnbringer's Into the Lair of the Sun God and its an album worth checking out if you haven't yet!
