Say Goodbye
Everybody Else Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You better take it fast
While here tears are falling
She sees the world different from you
And if she falls again
You'll hear your maker calling
What are you waiting for?
So what are you waiting for?
Here's your chance to say goodbye
Say goodbye"
I'm getting so sick of it all
The way he locks you in
And never lets you out
It's got to get better than this
I got a motorbike
The driveway now
So what are you waiting for?
What are you waiting for?
So what are you waiting for?
Here's your chance to say goodbye
Say goodbye
The chorus of "Say Goodbye" by Everybody Else depicts a situation where the singer encourages someone to take action and leave a difficult situation. The singer is addressing someone who wants something from a woman who is clearly unhappy, and they need to take it quickly before she falls apart again. The verse suggests that the woman is trapped in a bad situation where she sees the world differently from those around her. She is crying, and the singer seems to suggest that unless she is helped, she might not make it through.
The song's second verse seems to center on the singer being tired of watching the woman caught in this cycle of abuse, and he wants the person addressed in the first verse to put an end to it. He encourages them to take action because things will not get better unless there is some change. The singer sounds somewhat angry and frustrated that the woman's situation continues, and it's clear that he wants her to escape.
"Say Goodbye" is a powerful song that explores themes of strength, abuse, and hope. Many people struggle with similar situations daily, and the song is a reminder that it's essential to take action when somebody is suffering. It's a call to all of us to be vigilant about situations where people are in need of help and to do something about it.
