Wake Up
Everybody Else Lyrics

Through the best part of the day
Why won't you wake up?
And everything's running away
Why won't you wake up?
Get up my sleeper
Can't you hear me calling
A million midnights
Couldn't beat this morning
Come on
Baby's gonna drive me
Crazy 'cause i can't sleep
Oh why won't you wake up
Baby's gonna drive me
Crazy 'cause i can't sleep
You're sleeping
Through the best part of the day
Why won't you wake up?
And everything's getting away
Why won't you wake up?
Get up my sleeper
See the sky is falling
Come on
Get up and kick a can
Across the morning
Come on
The song "Wake Up" by Everybody Else is a call to action for someone who seems to be wasting their potential by sleeping through the best part of the day. The song's message is clear: it's time to wake up and start making the most of every moment. The lyrics repeat the line "Why won't you wake up?" as a plea for the listener to take control of their life and start living it to the fullest. The verses describe the frustration of the singer, who is trying to motivate a loved one to get up and face the day but finds that they won't budge. The chorus is an upbeat rallying cry to shake off the sleep and embrace the possibilities of each new day.
The song seems to be about more than just getting out of bed, however. It also speaks to the fear of missing out on life, of letting opportunities slip away because we're not paying attention. The line "everything's running away" suggests a sense of urgency, as if there's a finite amount of time to accomplish our goals and dreams. The song's title is a declaration that it's time to wake up and start chasing after what we want.
Overall, "Wake Up" is a catchy, upbeat song with a positive message of empowerment. It encourages listeners to take charge of their lives, to shake off the sleep and start living in the moment. It's a reminder that every day is a gift, and that we should make the most of it.
