Nowhere To Go
Evil Conduct Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Got nowhere to go, got nowhere to hide
Say that I'm evil, say that I'm bad
Steal the freedom that I have never had
Chorus (2x):
Got nowhere to go to
Got nowhere to go
This is my country, the place I call home
So many people, still I'm alone
Got nothing in common, nothing to share
A paranoid nation, kids in despair
Chorus (2x)
Feel like a prisoner, no freedom for me
Ain't got no money to buy liberty
I have to live the way that I do
Where can I go, I ain't got a clue
Chorus (4x)
I've got nowhere ...
You've got nowhere ...
We've got nowhere to go
The song "Nowhere to Go" by Evil Conduct is a powerful anthem that speaks to the struggles and frustrations of those who feel trapped and persecuted by society. The lyrics describe a sense of hopelessness and desperation, as the singer is constantly pursued by the law and has no safe place to go. He is labeled as "evil" and "bad" by others, and his freedom is stolen from him, leaving him trapped and alone. The chorus repeats the phrase "got nowhere to go" as a haunting refrain, emphasizing the feelings of isolation and helplessness.
The second verse of the song speaks to a larger societal issue - the alienation and disconnection that can be felt even in one's own country. The singer feels alone and disconnected from the people around him, and describes a "paranoid nation" filled with "kids in despair." The repeated line "got nothing in common, nothing to share" speaks to a sense of isolation and division within society.
Overall, "Nowhere to Go" is a powerful and emotional song that speaks to the struggles and frustrations of those who feel trapped and persecuted. Its haunting lyrics and driving melody make it a standout track that resonates with listeners.
