Don't Cry For Me Argentina
Evita Film Cast Feat. Madonna Lyrics

When I try to explain how I feel
That I still need your love after all that I've done
You won't believe me
All you will see is a girl you once knew
Although she's dressed up to the nines
At sixes and sevens with you
I had to let it happen, I had to change
Couldn't stay all my life down at heel
Looking out of the window, staying out of the sun
So I chose freedom
Running around, trying everything new
But nothing impressed me at all
I never expected it to
Don't cry for me, Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance
And as for fortune, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired
They are illusions
They are not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you and hope you love me
Don't cry for me, Argentina
Don't cry for me, Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance
Have I said too much?
There's nothing more I can think of to say to you
But all you have to do is look at me to know
That every word is true
The lyrics of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" by the Evita Film Cast featuring Madonna delve into the complex emotions and experiences of the character Eva Perón. The song is a reflection of Eva's journey from her humble beginnings to her rise in power as the First Lady of Argentina.
In the first verse, Eva acknowledges that her actions may be difficult for others to understand. She confesses that despite all her accomplishments and mistakes, she still needs the love and support of those around her. She anticipates doubt from others, as they may still see her as the girl they once knew, despite her transformation and newfound success.
Eva proceeds to explain that she had no choice but to let things unfold as they did and make necessary changes in her life. She describes living a life of mediocrity as she looked out of the window, avoiding the spotlight. However, she then asserts her decision to pursue freedom, allowing herself to experience and explore new things. Eva quickly realizes that the external facades of fame and fortune do not impress her as much as she initially thought they would.
The chorus, "Don't cry for me Argentina," reveals Eva's plea to her home country. She assures the people of Argentina that she never truly left them, even during her wild and chaotic days. Despite her controversial lifestyle, Eva holds on to her promise to the people, urging them not to distance themselves from her.
Eva further explains that she never sought fortune or fame; they were simply illusions that the world believed were her sole desires. She explains that these external achievements were never the solutions they promised to be. Ultimately, the answer, the true source of fulfillment, has always been love – her love for Argentina and her hope that they reciprocate that love.
The song concludes with Eva questioning if she has said too much and expressing that she cannot find any more words to convey her feelings. Instead, Eva suggests that anyone looking at her would be able to see the truth in her eyes, affirming the authenticity and sincerity of her every word.

I'm spoiled, I had the good fortune to see Michale Crawford, the Original Phantom of the Opera, five times at the Majestic Theater. He was incredible.

I do love seeing modern actors who are "triple threats," who can act, sing, and dance well. Older generations of actors could regularly do this, but it's a rare trait in modern ones. Banderas is exceptional.

Jared Leto surely can do 2 out 3 . I don't know if he can dance too because I haven't seen him. But this doesn't necessarily means he can't.
