Apart from being a production outfit, Evol Intent also owns and operates their own label, which functions as an outlet for their own work as well as like-minded artists.

After building an underground following with their first 3 releases, Evol Intent signed a deal with Alpha Magic to handle their distribution for Evol Intent Recordings. Soon after, Evol Intent was signed by Barcode records, a spinoff of dnb label Renegade Hardware. After their first release with Barcode, Hardware offered them an exclusive deal as permanent artists on the roster. Around the same time, Dieselboy approached Evol Intent to do a remix for his cd "The Dungeon Masters Guide." Upon completion of the remix, Dieselboy asked Evol Intent to do another remix for the cd, of a song from BT.

Their own Evol Intent Recordings imprint is distributed internationally through LOAD Media.

Love it. Although, if they went back and took a lot of the tinny crash and ride cymbals out in the 1:37 chorus line, and turned up the bass, it would be an absolute masterpiece in my opinion. As for the rest, its brilliant.

When I don't know what to classify something as, I know an artist is being original. This song in particular does fit in the tempo range of dubstep, but that's because it's a legitimate pace for downtempo music that can be danced to. It doesn't mean it IS dubstep just because the beat and the tempo fit. There's definitely elements of it in there, but there are also significant influences from ambient and rock music, in fact it sounds a lot like Evol Intent sampled an M83 song.

@Taizuko But look at more widely variated genres, like jazz. I played for years in jazz groups and combos going through highschool, and played songs in all ranges of tempo and rhythmic structure. I don't think it's necessarily just the bpm that defines a genre, but the textural vibe that is presented in the music. If you look around in music you'll hear that other genres have already used the rhythmic structures dubstep is based on, but it projects a completely different feel.

@BoxMan122122 Yes there is lol. Anyone that's a fan of Evol Intent knows they make Dubstep, DnB, and Drumstep. That's not Breakbeat. That's called a drum solo. And it has wobbles in it made off of a synthesized bassline. And it's at 140 bpm. Half step tempo. But you're right. I'm retarded.

It does have a genre, it does has a style, a tempo, and follows a certain timing pattern, that's what defines the genre, Maybe if you knew what you were talking about you could see that you were the one being ignorant.
