The plan was to put out a double-sided EP, one side Example & the other K-Otix. Well, things didn't go as planned, so both groups decided to do 2 seperate EPs & release them around the same time. Done deal. Kay became writing the very first song on July 26, 1996. We both produced 3 songs each on the EP. January 1997, we released our 6 song EP titled, "Impulses". We only pressed 500 copies." - Cipher

I may as well be invisible
But if we all did what we want
We may as well be criminals
Well I ain't got a lot of stuff
But with you, I can see the world
Well we've both got a lot of love
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
And I'm happy you're by my side
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
And I'm happy you're by my side
If I can't do what I love
I may as well be invisible
But if we all did what we want
We may as well be criminals
Well I feel like I'm old enough
And with you I can be myself
Well we've both got a lot of love
Let's run away, be invincible
Let's run away
Let's run away
We got something to say
Let's run away, be original
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
And I'm happy you're by my side
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
And I'm happy you're by my side
I know we look out for each other
Give our lives for the other one
So when I say goodbye I'm happy
Happy you're by my side
Let's run away
Let's run away
We got something to say
Let's run away, be original
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
And I'm happy you're by my side
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
One last breath, then say goodbye
And I'm happy you're by my side
The lyrics of "One Last Breath" by Example reflect the struggle between following one's dreams and conforming to societal norms. The opening lines "If I can't do what I love, I may as well be invisible" express the importance of pursuing one's passions, while the following line "But if we all did what we want, we may as well be criminals" acknowledges the potential consequences of defying societal expectations.
Throughout the song, Example discusses his desire to escape with his partner and live life on their own terms. The lines "Well we've both got a lot of love, let's run away, be original" express the desire for freedom and authenticity in a world that often values conformity over individuality.
The repetition of "One last breath, then say goodbye" in the chorus creates a sense of finality and urgency, emphasizing the importance of living in the moment and taking risks before it's too late. The final verse highlights the strength of the relationship between Example and his partner, and how their love gives him peace and happiness, even as they face an uncertain future.
With its infectious chorus and poignant lyrics, "One Last Breath" affirms the importance of following one's heart and living life authentically, even when it is difficult.
