The lyrics to Exile's song "Real World" describe the struggles and determination of a person pursuing their dreams in the face of difficulties, setbacks, and the pressures of the real world. The opening lines speak of past tears and smiles, which have been transformed into passion and commitment to stay strong and persevere. The lyricist acknowledges that they may face situations where there is no clear advantage or gain, and that success will not come easily without hard work and dedication.
The lyrics explore the idea that in the real world, one must produce results to succeed or risk giving up entirely. The song poses the question, why is it worth seeking so much in the realistic world? The artists then answer the question by emphasising the importance and significance of the never-ending dream, its connection to the individual, and its ability to bring joy, hope, and miracles. The conclusion of the song recognises the importance of self-confidence and accepting oneself while looking forward to the future, capturing the essence of running towards a goal, being resilient, embracing challenges, and rising above them.
