For Those Afraid To Speak
Exotype Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I am the fist that will defend the weak
I am the tongue that will deliver the lonely
I am the hell for those who think that they own me
What, what?
They think that they own me
What, what?
If you're living ashamed and you're feeling the pain
Just believe in yourself and you can conquer the sting
It's the way of the brave, it's the way you behave
Get a grip on yourself before it drives you insane
If you're living ashamed and you're feeling the pain
Just believe in yourself and you can conquer the sting
It's the way of the brave, it's the way you behave
Get a grip on yourself before it drives you insane
Do I need to remind you, the past is behind you? You wished it away
Can I trust you'll find in you the strength to continue today?
Do I need to remind you, the past is behind you? You wished it away
Can I trust you'll find in you the strength to continue today?
You are a slave to insecurity
You lavish in the pain of purity
You will be banished to obscurity
This is the price you paid to torture me
I am the voice of those afraid to speak
I am the fist that will defend the weak
You think that you own me?
I think that you owe me
Back the fuck up
What, what?
Back the fuck up
What, what?
If you're living ashamed and you're feeling the pain
Just believe in yourself and you can conquer the sting
It's the way of the brave, it's the way you behave
Get a grip on yourself before it drives you insane
Back the fuck up
Do I need to remind you, the past is behind you? You wished it away
Can I trust you'll find in you the strength to continue today?
Do I need to remind you, the past is behind you? You wished it away
Can I trust you'll find in you the strength to continue today?
I am the voice of those afraid to speak
I am the fist that will defend the weak
The lyrics to Exotype's song For Those Afraid To Speak appear to be a call to action for those who are struggling with insecurity and pain. The singer presents themselves as a figure of strength and protection for those who are afraid to speak out, and a force to be reckoned with for those who try to oppress others. The chorus "I am the voice of those afraid to speak / I am the fist that will defend the weak" emphasizes the singer's role as a protector, while the line "You think that you own me? / I think that you owe me" serves as a warning to those who try to control others.
The verses of the song offer advice and encouragement to those who are struggling. The line "If you're living ashamed and you're feeling the pain / Just believe in yourself and you can conquer the sting" suggests that self-belief and strength can help overcome difficult emotions. The repeated refrain "Do I need to remind you, the past is behind you? You wished it away / Can I trust you'll find in you the strength to continue today?" encourages listeners to let go of past traumas and focus on moving forward.

I know some people said this is generic, but i dont find it too generic. Maybe instrumentally it is slightly generic, but their lyrics and vocals are fairly different in my opinion. I like it alot :3

Guess they're a dead band nos, but the guitars are anything but generic here. I haven't heard anything quite like it and it's now 2020
Groovy Me
I actually enjoy this song, and i actually like it how they put a positive message on the lyrics, most bands just post depressing shit in their songs, ofcourse i love most but it's getting old. I like this though.

Nice to hear something positive for once xD

Metal actually isn't inherently negative. A lot of it is just observational and actually takes a stance against things like war etc. Almost all power metal bands are wholeheartedly positive and have exceptionally uplifting lyrics and themes. There are exceptions of course, but pointing out bad things doesn't make you bad.
