When I Looked At Him
Exposé Lyrics
I've never known someone before
Who feels the way you do
All my dreams somehow became true with you
And I've never wanted someone more
As much as I want you
Love will last forever it's true with you
I will always fear awaking in the night
And not having you by my side
It's not a dream
We must break thru
And make a love that's everlasting
We'll be as one/I can see it in your eyes
When I looked at him and he turned to me
He said you're more than a friend to love to need
When I looked at him it's love eternally
They say I should be acting cool
They tell me I'm a fool
They don't see the things I see in you
Don't say good-bye/It would tear in two my heart
The time is right/We could never be apart
We'll be as one I can see it in your eyes
When I looked at him and he turned to me
He said you're more than a friend to love to need
When I looked at him it's love eternally
It's not a dream
We all need love and understanding
We must break thru
And make a love that's everlasting
We'll be as one/I can see it in your eyes
When I looked at him and he turned to me
He said you're more than a friend to love to need
When I looked at him it's love eternally

I’m in my 40’s and I remember this song from middle school in the late 80s/early 90s but couldn’t remember the title.
I heard it again at the dentist 3 years ago and tried to sound app it in there but was too late as the song went off. It was bothering me and I tried to track it down. I asked friends I went to school with, who were my age, etc. No one knew.
I looked up Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Martika, Sweet Sensation, etc...I really swore it was Belinda Carlisle for a while, but no success.
I was 90% sure it was Expose as I remembered their vocal sound. But must’ve skipped this particular track (out of all the songs) in their catalogue while searching.
I did a YouTube playlist of Expose and let it play. Long and behold 😎. To everyone involved in creating this song, it’s perfection...timeless.
Hearing this takes me back to some great memories.

Soma
Totally underrated group. They were way better than their contemporaries.

@Ricky Jeffrey Don't you mean they couldn't hold an eternal flame to the Bangles? Personally I like both bands a lot and won't pick either as being better than the other. But we all have our choices.
