Eyehategod have noted Melvins, Black Sabbath, Black Flag, Saint Vitus, Carnivore, Swans and Flipper as key influences to their sound. These influences combined with heavy, down-tuned, bluesy riffs, walls of feedback and torturous vocals create a truly filthy, misanthropic atmosphere.
While Jimmy Bower was busy playing drums for Down, the remaining 4 members of Eyehategod formed a side-project called Outlaw Order (abbreviated to OO%). The band released a limited edition 7" EP in 2003 called Legalize Crime, which has since been re-released on CD with a bonus live track. 2008 saw the release of Outlaw Order's debut full-length, titled Dragging Down the Enforcer.

The lyrics of Eyehategod's song Kill Your Boss are provocative and aggressive in nature. They suggest to the listener to kill their boss and then nonchalantly switch to talking about something as casual as eating a hot dog with ketchup. At face value, the lyrics appear very straightforward and violently suggestive. However, there are many interpretations that can be made from these lyrics. It could take a literal approach, where the song suggests that people should kill their bosses, who often symbolize authority and oppression in the workplace. On the other hand, it could also be interpreted as a metaphor for overthrowing the societal class and power structures and thereby achieving liberation from oppression.
Eyehategod's music has been associated with the sludge metal subgenre that arose in the 1990s. Interestingly, the song “Kill Your Boss” was not included in their debut album, but was later released as part of their 2000's compilation album “10 Years of Abuse (and Still Broke)”.

Nah man,Take as needed was a bit heavier and more "catchy,also they werent downtuned to C standard on Dopesick, for some dumb reason they went up to C# standard unlike their other albums. The band said it themselves,they were Dopesick during the whole recording.......
