Midnight Sun
F.CUZ Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Your lips were like a red and ruby chalice, warmer than the summer night
The clouds were like an alabaster palace rising to a snowy height.
Each star it's own aurora borealis, suddenly you held me tight,
I could see the midnight sun.

I can't explain the silver rain that found me--or was that a moonlight veil?
The music of the universe around me, or was that a nightingale?
And then your arms miraculously found me,suddenly the sky turned pale,
I could see the midnight sun.

Was there such a night, it's a thrill i still don't quite believe,
But after you were gone, there was still some stardust on my sleeve.

The flame of it may dwindle to an ember, and the stars forget to shine,
And we may see the meadow in december, icy white and crystalline.

But oh my darling always i'll remember when your lips were close to mine,
And we saw the midnight sun.

Overall Meaning

In these lyrics, the singer describes a surreal, romantic experience with their partner. The lyrics are full of vivid imagery, such as the comparison of the singer's partner's lips to a red and ruby chalice, and the clouds being compared to an alabaster palace rising to a snowy height. The singer then describes how each star had its own aurora borealis and that suddenly their partner held them tightly. It's clear from these descriptions that the singer is experiencing something out of the ordinary, almost like a dream.

The singer then describes a sense of detachment from reality, with the silver rain that found them, unsure whether it was real or a moonlight veil. The music of the universe is around them, or is it a nightingale? Then their partner's arms miraculously found them and suddenly the sky turned pale as they could see the midnight sun. The singer is describing a moment of pure bliss and feeling completely immersed in this experience.

The singer concludes by expressing a sense of longing and reminiscing about the experience. They question whether the night was real, but conclude that it doesn't really matter because the stardust of the experience still remains. The singer acknowledges the fleeting nature of the experience, but makes a vow to always remember the moment when their lips were close and they saw the midnight sun. Overall, the song is a beautiful portrayal of a romantic and surreal experience.

This is honestly my favorite song among all the Kpop songs I ever listen to. Sure, I forget that it exists sometimes, but whenever I listen to it again, it never fails to give me the feels and I really like this song even though it sounds kinda dramatic. It's really a pity how this group is so underrated and they I guess they lack recognition :(

@doihavetobenormal
