Bought one out of curiosity and for collection. After going to the range and shooting a number of rounds, it’s not bad. I will say that it’s a good pistol. Surprisingly I had no issues or malfunction with it. Yes, I will recommend this pistol to others.

I just bought mine last month and shit it for the first time the other day and I like it a lot i ran steel case ammo and brass first mag was steel case had one failure to eject but I think it was my fault I think i limp wristed the second shot but after that one failure to eject it ran 70 rounds perfectly nothing after the second shot it took both steel and brass and seemed like the pistol wanted to keep eating ammo

I just bought one for my mother 2 days ago after watching this review. Took it to her yesterday to let her get familiarized with it and after 300 rounds we only had 2 fail to ejects and 1 double feed! And that was during the first 2-3 magazines, after that NO malfunctions!! I'm a firm believer in breaking in a new pistol with 300-400 rounds FIRST and then putting another 500+ rounds through it before trusting your life on it! I fully expect malfunctions during a break-in period of ANY gun. My XD and Glock had many during theirs!. This one is well on its way to being a trusted pistol! I wouldn't give my MOTHER a pistol I don't trust, which is why we put 300 through it before I left. I'm just about to leave now to go back over and I have another 400 rounds to put thru it today. I will update you on today's session. THANK YOU for bringing this fantastic little gem to my attention!! Oh I picked it up on sale for $299!! Unbelievable!!

@Алексей Лесуков No just perception man it’s not bad at all I didn’t run nearly as many rounds as they are claiming after maybe 100 rounds it’s good to go i just picked this gun up I had one failure to eject first mag 2nd bullet after that she ate steel case and brass instead of shooting a bunch of ammo what I suggest is do maybe 200 dry racks of the slide get those internals moving before shooting it then give it a nice clean and oil and good to go no need for 500 plus rounds

I don't think that gun is worth to buy, not a good choice just because it is $300.00 but you have to invest another $350.00 paying for 500 rounds to break it? Then you are really paying about $750.00 , a good gun like a glock it is enough to shoot about 200 rounds to break it and not even brand new it doesn't jam and no malfunctions so it is better to get a glock 19.

Panthia Whelan she still has it. Shoots it all the time. She got a Ruger LC9 since and carries it. Only because of the size and weight. She still loves her FMK and keeps it as her nightstand and vehicle gun. I couldn’t tell you how many rounds she’s put thru it now but she thinks it’s between 2000-2500. They have a new ATV shooting range and she uses it instead of her Ruger. I asked her about reliability and she said it has had a single issue.

Being a gun owner in California, i always think having a "California" label on it has a negative connotation in a crippled sense (example: california compliant, california legal, california approved, CA roster approved, etc...)

Seeing how a quality pistol is made here kind of makes me glad that I was proven wrong that there are are a good amount of freedom loving Americans here honoring both our troops and our rights through this pistol.

I've considered this pistol for a while. The price is certainly alluring. I think the overall design is quite pleasing as well - The way the mag fits seamlessly into the grip is a big plus over the Glock IMHO - Yeah, it's cosmetic, but that's one thing that has always bugged me about my G19. Thanks for another great review.

Just got one of these, and probably one of the best purchases for the price. I put 100 rounds through it, 50 steel case and 50 brass with no issues. Fits my big hands good, less recoil than my Glock 34, accurate out of the box, and I prefer it over my Taurus G3 now. Number one thing to do when you buy a new one is to oil the slide rails and move the slide back and forth 10-15 times and you won't have any issues with the slide going into battery.

I bought the FMK gen 2 9mm and didn’t care for the trigger so I bought the upgrade trigger through their website and it is much better. I never swapped out a trigger but watched a few videos and was successful.

I love the feel of the pistol and the price. Unfortunately, after having failed extraction in every magazine, I had to send it back to FMK. They ended up replacing the barrel and extractor. Gun will arrive back Monday, and glad they stand behind their product. I used about 700 of Federal & Blazer 115 grain 9mm Luger's when I brought the gun out thinking it will break in. It was frustrating especially when my bro in law had his Glock 19 and was shooting flawlessly the whole time.

@milesian1 I hope so, because there is nothing "great" about California in terms of residing. Visiting though, not so bad. The Pacific Ocean is great! One of the great things about living in AZ - it makes visiting CA an easy little trip. But Newsom is trying hard, and possibly succeeded, in destroying or at least helping to destroy this state.

Sootch00 thanks for the review. I've shot around thousand rounds through this weapon. I've had it for three years. The only major problem I've had was with the magazine. The firearms would not locked back. I believe the magazine follower wore out causing the weapon to not lock. Thanks again for the review.

I was looking for a used one for about two years. I buy all my guns used. Finally found one last month. Really great price. Under 200. Why not. 400 rounds later no issues. I dont mind the trigger. I grew up shooting S/A D/A revolvers and auto loaders. It is fine to me.

My wife had a pink and black two tone version that she conceal carried for about two years. It ran pretty good and had few, if any FTFs and FTEs. Overall, it is a comfortable pistol to shoot but for the money, they are may good pistols out there in the $300 to $400 range that compete. I do love the FMK 9C1 Gen 2 that has the Bill of Rights inscription on it.

While I have nothing against the FMK, other good options for less money include the SD9 VE (I recommend changing out the spring/guide rod for an all steel upgrade), the Ruger 9E, and the Canik series. Heck, I recommend you buy them all!

Sooch, I've owned my gen2 for 2 years now. No problems whatsoever. I've tried reloads, Winchester whitebox to fancy hallow points of all kinds. It fits great and it annoys the glock fanboys at the range. The first gen yes had very minor issues that have since been resolved. Also you did a review on the US M12 pistol holster, well the FMK fits perfectly. Why pay more when you can support a company like FMK that's extremely proud to be made in America.

@Norfolk N Whey I think for the casual shooter that just wants to go to the range occasionally and have a firearm for home protection the FMK will fit the bill just fine. I don't think this firearm was ever designed with heavy duty combat usage in mind.

I’d venture to guess you haven’t used this pistol for a high-volume pistol class, or used it in adverse conditions. I’ve only seen 2 of these in training, and both of them failed miserably. FTF, FTE, stovepipes, so much so that both shooters swapped out for their primary firearm to complete the classes. These are fine to play with at the range, but certainly not defensive-use worthy.

I bought an FMK 9C1 G2 last summer and I had a couple of failures to go back fully into battery and a few failures to fire due to light primer strikes. The failures to go back into battery were simply due to the weapon being new and everything being a tight fit, a little bit of gun oil and racking the slide 30 or 40 times took care of that. The failures to fire due to light primer strikes I determined to be caused by failure at the factory to properly remove machining burrs in the firing pin housing that would cause the firing pin from fully extending out when the striker was released. This problem was overcome by field stripping the pistol then further disassembly of the slide to remove the striker and firing pin then using a carbide drill of the proper diameter inserted into the firing pin housing on the slide and turning it with FINGERS ONLY to remove the burr that was causing the light firing pin strikes (about 1 to 3 per magazine in the first 6 magazines). Now, with that done, which only took about half an hour to do, I have not had any failures of any kind with over 1000 rounds through the weapon. Holsters are not readily available for the FMK 9C1 G2 but I have found that a IWB kydex holster from Raw Dog Tactical for a Glock 17 does have a good, albeit not perfect, fit and retention. BTW, the long extractor is made so because it activates the loaded chamber indicator at the back of the slide. I like the fact that with a simple swipe with my thumb I can verify that a round is chambered due to the tactile nature of the LCI, even when the weapon is holstered.

Great video Review...Well here is my opinion with FMK 2 Gen... I being carrying for a few decades and my gun of choice is my old 45 Cal. Colt 1911, maybe cause was my first hand gun that I train (Thanks US Army A25) and with well over 4500 rounds I am very bias with large calibers... But with my FL CWP, I was looking for something less larger than 1911, I also own and used; Ruger P94 40 Cal., Glock 22 9mm.,S&W Sigma 40, Sig Sauer P229 40 cal..

My daily carrier was my Glock cause if felt better with a hip holster, a bit bulkier but nice gun also a 9mm :/. About few mouths ago, at the range, a good buddy of mine, introduce to FMK... We squeeze about 200 rounds and it was not that bad for a 9mm and honestly better than my Glock, I was impress, I ask to see if it come on large caliber and that when I was found the FMK 40C1 G2 and for 379.99 at my local gun shop I didn't hesitate and order it. 4 days later I had it in my hands... I can tell you all that after 200 rounds and 8 mths later, she is my daily carrier, I also purchase the FMK Holster from their website and I can certify that is a great hand gun for CWP and for the price you get more bang for the buck... PS. I swap the Glock 22 for a Glock 43 and and handed to my wife....

Sootch... I have a Gen 2 as well and the issues I have is the slide doesn't hold back after the mag is emptied, and failure to feed once in a while. But other than that, it's a good gun!!

I haven't shot her yet but my biggest gripe is the crunchy trigger. For the price point, don't expect some competition grade parts. They do sell the upgraded trigger kit but is it worth it for a regular edc? Tough to justify. God forbid it ever has to be used in a defensive situation, with the adrenaline and such a little grit won't be a factor. Fits a G19 mag as well which is sweet.

I've got this gun and carry as my daily......when I first got it and started shooting it, the slide didn't lock back as well after firing the last shot - I fixed this by adjusting the springs in the mags. I think from the factory they are a little compressed. Taking the mag apart and pulling the springs out a little fixed this and I haven't had a problem with the slide holding open since.

I hope you kept that one; it appears to be one of the rumored functioning models. I've had two. One remains in the armory just because it's great for malfunction drills. Over 600 rounds through it and not one complete magazine's worth of shooting without a malfunction.

One of them was sent back to the factory...twice..never fixed. The one I kept works ok with hotter ammo, just not with regular or soft stuff like Blazer.

Bought the FMK today in FDE. Very sharp and enjoyed the reasonable pricing on this pistol. Field stripped, cleaned and greased her up when I got back to the house. Gonna take her out for a spin next weekend lol. Dry firing practice until then.

I picked one up in late 2021. It came in a plain cardboard box with no spare magazine or manual (available as a download). It jammed on every single shot. It took a week to get hold of FMK. They wanted me to pay for shipping it to them, but finally they agreed to send me a shipping tag. I got it back in about a month with a new extractor installed. Now it only malfunctions 20% of the time. Spare mags are $40 retail, which is ridiculous because I know what the dealer price on them is. These are not Mec-Gar quality mags.

Owned the Gen2 for a year. Easily the worst pistol I've ever used.
Repeated failures to eject and always shoots too high after about 15 yards.
I've re-sighted it and put over 1000 rounds through it but still the same problems. Like, it will actually work consistently when it gets hot and you've fired a few rounds through it. But the first few always seem to have around a 10-50% malfunction rate, which makes this absolutely useless for a daily carry.
The one I do like is that it feels comfortable in my hands. But that's about it. It's an unreliable Glock 19 knockoff.

My husband who was very into firearms recently passed away, and I got thinking about what pistol i should get now to help protect our family. I used to have my cpl and my first pistol was the glock 19 (I loved it!!!). Unfortunately they are out of my price range. So when I saw this and the price at $199, I was hoping it wasn't going to be one of those spur of the moment purchases that I would regret. After seeing your video, I feel much better about it. I think I will stick to 115 grain ammo though since that seems to be the concensus for no fails. We'll see after I get it and run some rounds through it.

@Shannon Spainhower Well the 2nd generation guns look promising. Believe it or not I have bought cheaper 9mms! There is some inflation in any new gun. I am sure your gun will work fine. Just make sure you clean it first. Reading the manually and watching videos on YouTube on gun cleaning would help.

In California and Mass. The FMK is only allowed to be sold new with the DOJ trigger. Once the owner takes possession he's allowed to replace the doj trigger with the FAT 316 trigger system. Nothing illegal about it. California has separate testing for all approved handguns and the FAT 316 trigger was not in production at the time of testing 3 years ago. Possibly once the firearm is required to go though a renewal process the FAT trigger will be mainstay.

Took a month but I finally picked up my 9C G2 yesterday and headed to the range..... Couple of comments. I shot 100 rounds, 115 grain, non-reloads. I had three misfires, three stovepipes and one double feed. I am going to attribute these malfunctions to 'break-in' maladies. The jury is still out until I run another few hundred rounds. Hopefully the malfunctions will be things of the past. Living in the People's Republic of Kalifornia, I have no other option than the double action trigger... pull is WAY TOO long.
All in all, very nice weapon system. After getting comfortable with the gun, I held pretty nice patterns at 25 yards. Took a while to get used to the pull... Matches up with the Glock 19 nicely and $100-$150 less.

FMK might be exception at least in my area of Commifornia have 4 mags, many gun shops carry them you can also get them online and they were good price compared to my CZ.

Lookin to pick one up... lookin at all FMK reviews as possible I see to me that there’s more good than bad... and all the bad reviews or most reviews at that are from about 3yrs ago... do you know if there have been any more adjustments to make it more reliable? I wanna give this company a chance because they are American and from california.... I just don’t wanna purchase and regret it and wish I went with the Glock19

Commented on this pistol awhile back. I own the Gen 2. 5000 rounds later, don't be impressed with that number, I had to do some gun smithing to the pistol to make it reliable. As an owner, I would not recommend this pistol as a buy !!!! For the price point now at +$400 you can do MUCH better !!!!

Appreciate your review on the general 2; the 1st was an unsafe disaster!
A number of your subscribers mentioned comparing the Turkish canik to this pistol; my c100 upgrade of the cz75 compact has been completely reliable for 1400 rounds-a jem! Supporting Isis, I don't think so; our air force is fighting them from airbases there along with our nato allies..

That FMK has a lot of scratch marks on the slide for a new gun. I have been carrying my gen 3, g26 for a couple of years everyday and it doesn't have a single mark on it. It still looks like the day I bought it.

I am not a Glock fan boy but I own a USA made G17 and we owned a black and pink FMK and I agree with you. The Glock finish is much more durable.

I really wanted to like this gun, but it felt cheap, unfinished and rattled. And it was on sale for 250 - I still couldn't bring myself to buy it. For an exact Glock replica internally, they could have done a better job with it.. Thanks for the video

Me too. just got my gun back from FMK thinking and hoping my gun was fixed. same issues jams and now the slide will not lock back after the mag. has emptied... I don't know what to do anymore.... I think I'm going to buy a Canik 9mm tomorrow....

Anyone else think that safely blade seems wide enough to defeat the purpose? It's nearly as wide as the trigger itself, this just as likely to get hung up.

FYI the absurd trigger requirements in MA pertain to what dealers can sell....not to what a person can lawfully possess. once one purchases a firearm they can make whatever modifications including trigger mods, so long as the modifications don't violate the AWB (e.g. 10-rd mag capacity, flash hiders, pistol grips, bla bla bla)

Just shot mine today 175-200 rounds of brass max, federal fmjs, tula steal, and Hornaday xtps. One FTE hopefully it just needs a break in period and it was a fluke.

I just got one and cleaned it , took it to the range and had 7 Failure to go into battery with the first magazine. Hoping the change in ammo will help. FMK recommends RemingtonUMC 115 grain ball ammo, and a 300 round break in period.

Would you trust the FMK 9C1 as a truck gun? They are only around $300 so that fits with one of my requirements for a truck gun. Being cheap enough that if it gets stolen i'm not out lots of money.

Winchester Ranger RA9T 147gr is pretty nasty standard pressure ammo. Still though, the fact that the FMK is not +P rated kinda bothers me. This, and the magazines seem cheap and junky.

looks like a nice pistol but I think the similarities are to close that it's trying to fill the already taken spot. looks well made but I think spending an extra 100$ and get a glock. I just think it would be better if they were more innovative on their own. idk just seems like it would be a hard sell siting next to a Glock in a case, but I'm sure it has a way better grip.

I bought my FMK 9C1 Gen 2 before they had the Fast Action Trigger. The double action trigger is terrible. When the Fast Action Trigger became available I ordered one. After installing it I found that the trigger would not reset. I contacted FMK and was told basically ....... oh ..... you have an early serial number Gen 2. The Fast Action Trigger won't work on your gun. There was no such disclaimer on their website when I ordered the trigger.
