Es ist nur ein kleines Lied, über eine Liebe die vorbei ist und Zeiten die sich geändert haben. Die meisten haben so was in der ein oder anderen Weise schon mal erlebt.

So the best translation for:

It meant:
And you always told, don't worry (my money) can fix it.
So at the person addressed didn't show any sorrows. Mayby because of wealth or maybe just because of positiv thinking.
Some of the next lines says:
'Und ausgerechnet Dich hat das Leben aus der Bahn geworfen'
Somthing like
'And of all persons your dreams and plans failed.'
Sorry but finding a good translation is hard for me, my knowledge of English is not good enough.
It's how a very optimistic and light hearted person, who always inspirered the persons who told us this story, failed with his plans for his life.
