1. "FAUVE" is a French arts collective of music and videography established in 2010 in Paris. The band also uses the not equal to sign ≠. The act depends mostly on story telling through acting, through the spoken word and with interesting musical accompaniment. Fauve has its own record label called Fauve Corp.
2. "Fauve" is a Geneva-born Nicolas Julliard decided to become Fauve in 1999. His previous non-career moves include various participations in unknown bands such as Grammar & Use and Illford. French magazine "Les Inrockuptibles" awarded him a spot in their annual compilation CD "Ceux qu'il faut découvrir". That was in 2004, when Fauve was known as Sombre. Since then, Fauve has collected enough material to produce his first album, released in spring 2006 by Gentlemen Records.
COCK MUSIC SMART MUSIC / RAG #1

"Tiens Pierrot amènes-toi, amènes-toi qu'on rigole!
T'as pas remarqué?"
On faisait ça quand j'étais enfant
Parlez, parlez, parlez encore.
Parlez pour affronter la nuit.
La parole comme vaccin contre la mort.
La parole comme rempart contre l'ennui.
Parlez, parlez, parlez encore.
Parlez pour affronter la nuit.
Hey! Hooooooooooooo!
Hey! Hoooooooooooooo!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
The lyrics to FAUVE's "COCK MUSIC SMART MUSIC / RAG #1" are a reflection on the power of language and how it shapes our perception of life. The song starts with an anecdote about a friend named Dan who explains the difference between "Cock Music" and "Smart Music" with a list of artists from different generations. Although the singer acknowledges that there might be some truth to Dan's theory, there's something ironic about it. It's as if there's an invisible force controlling the way we experience music and art. This idea is further explored in the second verse with a metaphor about "The Big Magnet" and how it blinds us to certain things while giving us hints as to what we should focus on.
The rest of the song is a series of stories about different friends and their thoughts on language and perception. Matthieu talks about how words can crystalize thoughts and that a sure word is like a kiss. Thibault explains how words can make us feel like we're floating above the ground. The chorus repeats the phrase "Jour et nuit, je traque les épiphanies" (Day and night, I stalk the epiphanies), emphasizing the idea that language and perception are always on the singer's mind. The song ends with a rallying cry to use language as a weapon against death and boredom.
