I'm Your Doll

It makes me jealous baby
Why won't you be the only one?
The only one
Stop playing with those other girls
You know it drives me crazy
I'm feeling like a loaded gun
I'm your doll
Wind me up
I'm your doll
Dress me up
I'm your doll
Love me rough
I'm your doll
Wind me up
I'm your doll
Dress me up
I'm your doll
Love me rough
I'm your doll
Complete, I'm here
Just won't be there to hold me to
Look into my eyes, my eyes
Complete, I'm here
I'm here, I'm here
Look into my eyes
And tell me that you're here too
Stop playing with those other girls
You know it drives me crazy
I'm feeling like a loaded gun
And when it's done I'm the only one
I'm your doll
Wind me up
I'm your doll
Dress me up
I'm your doll
Love me rough
I'm your doll
Wind me up
I'm your doll
Dress me up
I'm your doll
Love me rough
I'm your doll
The lyrics of "I'm Your Doll" by FKA twigs tell a story of a woman who is deeply in love with her partner but is insecure about their relationship. The chorus "I'm your doll, wind me up, dress me up, love me rough" portrays the persona of the woman as one who is willing to be molded and shaped by her partner's desires, showing her vulnerability and total submission to her partner’s will. The verses reveal her possessive side, wanting her partner to only focus on her and not be swayed by other women. She feels threatened whenever she senses that her partner is giving someone else attention. The line "Stop playing with those other girls, it makes me jealous baby" insinuates that jealousy is eating her up, and she would prefer that her partner only has eyes for her.
The line "I'm feeling like a loaded gun" is possibly a metaphor that suggests pent up emotions that could explode anytime. She wants her partner to focus on her and release her. The second verse expands on her desire to have her partner's undivided attention, and the lines "complete, I'm here, just won't be there to hold me to" insinuate that she feels incomplete without consistent physical or emotional presence of her partner, causing her to snap or sever their twisted bond.
Overall, "I'm Your Doll" speaks of the intense desire to be loved and to be the only one that matters to a partner, but also highlights the dangers of possessing or controlling emotions, leading to toxicity and codependency.
