Don't Say
FM Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Ain't no easy ride
Who do you think you're fooling
I can see through your disguise
Some things you put behind you
Some things you can't ignore
There's nothing you can say
That I don't already know
Don't say you love me if you don't
Don't say you need me
Don't say you'll miss me when I'm gone
Don't say you want me, don't waste my time
Just say what's really on your mind
You play with my emotions
Crying crocodile tears
It's all just one long masquerade
Just to keep me here, oh
Sometimes you had me believing
Sometimes you're so sincere
Nothing you can do
Can make me change my mind
So let me make it clear
Don't say you love me if you don't
Don't say you need me
Don't say you'll miss me when I'm gone
Don't say you want me, don't waste my time
Just say what's really on your mind
No more days of confusion
No more living a lie
No more long and lonely sleepless nights
I've left it all behind
Don't say you love me if you don't
Don't say you need me
Don't say you'll miss me when I'm gone
Don't say you want me, don't waste my time
Just say what's really on your mind
Don't say you love me if you don't
Don't say you need me
Don't say you'll miss me when I'm gone
Don't say you want me, don't waste my time
Just say what's really on your mind
The lyrics of "Don't Say" by FM encapsulate the singer's frustration with their partner who seems to be playing with their emotions. The singer has had enough of the lies and false promises, hence the refrain of "Don't say you love me if you don't" and "Just say what's really on your mind". They've reached a point where they no longer want their partner's crocodile tears and masquerades to keep them guessing. The singer has moved on and left behind the confusing and lonely nights.
The verses of the song highlight the singer's insight into their partner's behaviour. They can see through their partner's disguises and are not fooled by their words. Some things can be put behind, but some cannot be ignored. The partner's words and actions have been heard before, and the singer is not interested in hearing them again. The singer has reached a point where they are demanding the truth, and nothing else will suffice.
Overall, the song offers a powerful message about honesty and the importance of being true to yourself and to others. It's a reminder that love and commitment are built on a foundation of trust, and that there are consequences to playing games with someone's emotions.

Just say what's really on your mind
Be honest about your feelings and intentions
You play with my emotions

Crying crocodile tears
Your tears are fake
It's all just one long masquerade
Your whole act is just a charade
Just to keep me here, oh
You're only pretending to care to keep me around
Sometimes you had me believing
I used to believe your lies
Sometimes you're so sincere
But sometimes you seem genuine
Nothing you can do
But that's not enough to make me stay
Can make me change my mind
I'm not going to be swayed by your tricks
So let me make it clear
I'm going to be honest about my feelings too
No more days of confusion
I'm tired of feeling uncertain
No more living a lie
I'm done pretending to be happy
No more long and lonely sleepless nights
I'm not going to suffer alone anymore
I've left it all behind
I'm moving on from this relationship

I respect the fuck out of how real you are jeff. Always have and always will.

So this whole episode is Mike ripping on the dumb red pill? Idk why all these soy boys give so much attention to the red pill like it’s some huge movement hahaha; btw I thought Tate was going to be irrelevant 😂
@keenakyra
All love, but if everyone is getting paid, it’s a choice to show up/not. Victim mentality is not the way. Jeff has got the heart for these boys and sometimes, lines blur between professionalism and friendship. Can’t show up drunk.. If you need a break, take one Steven. Others would love Steven’s opportunities and spot on the show. Kyle shows up and stays professional- with Steven, I have seen a consistent pattern. Jeff doesn’t need extra stress if he’s providing. Maybe reconsider what Steven wants or what he’s able to show up for?? maybe just the barbershop versus Jefffm?
@juniorpatron77
totally agree and im clueless here but i gotta emphathize w/ steven cus like mike said he is still a kid and the drunk performance stuff can be sticky IF jeff is on steven only telling him to be such ways when he pleases typa thing
@Andrea7373_
Wdym by if everyone is getting paid it’s a choice to show up/not? Sorry I’m just confused because if someone is getting paid that would more so mean they HAVE to show up and don’t have a choice unless they want to get fired lol
