In April 2016, FOAD signed with Triple Vision Entertainment. The same month, they released their debut EP, "CASCADE." They also had the opportunity to perform at Scream Our Fest, one of the prominent metal festivals in Japan, sharing the stage with notable acts such as Blessthefall, Attila, and Survive Said The Prophet. Moreover, FOAD expanded their reach with their first overseas show at Heartown Festival in Taiwan in November 2016.
The band continued their musical journey with the release of their second EP, "SATURATION," in January 2017. They once again graced the stage at Scream Our Fest alongside renowned bands like Born of Osiris, Chelsea Grin, and Sylar in June 2017. FOAD further showcased their talent by performing alongside While She Sleeps in Taiwan in July 2017.
In April 2018, FOAD unveiled a new single titled "DIVE TO THE GROUND." The band also embarked on a series of two-man shows with Coldrain in July 2018. However, in December 2019, bassist Moriya and guitarist Kento departed from the band.
FOAD underwent changes in April 2020, welcoming new vocalist Philippe from the band Fade In Solitude and guitarist Ash, previously a member of Paledusk. Additionally, Kento transitioned from vocals to bass and vocals. The band released a new EP titled "RETURNER" in May 2020, to mark their renewed presence in the music scene. It showcases a fusion of diverse musical genres including 80s pop, nu metal, and traditional Japanese instruments.
During the challenging period of live performance restrictions caused by the pandemic, Kento took the opportunity to reflect and update his musical sensibilities. The departure of a band member and the inspiring story of The Ghost Inside's revival profoundly influenced his perspective on live performances. Kento eagerly anticipates the return of live shows and aims to fully enjoy the experience when the circumstances permit.

FOAD Lyrics

Heaps of rubble and the tainted air recalls the day.
But it's never too late.
The only thing to tie the many that
Disappeared is to keep ourselves moving.
Survive!
Icouldn't save myself.
When I stay the night.
Come hit sorrow.
It's never too late.
I will stick it out to the end.
If we choose to end this story.
What on earth will remain?
If we choose to end this story.
Will I feel nothing anymore?
You can do everything you need.
But you can't stand alone.
Because we'll never fail you.
So believe us.
Until the day my heart brakes and heartbeat stops.
You can do everything you need.
But you can't stand alone.
Because we'll never fail you.
Make me feel alive.
I'll light up your darkness.
That day, took everything away from us.
So cruel, cold blooded.
Forget everything and start all over again.
This is new beginning.
The past is dead.
I won't ever go back.
Icouldn't save myself.
When I stay the night.
Come hit sorrow.
It's never too late.
I will stick it out to the end.
If we choose to end this story.
What on earth will remain?
If we choose to end this story.
Will I feel nothing anymore?
Why does god push me away?
This is new beginning.
The past is dead.
I won't ever go back.
Why does god push me away?
The lyrics to FOAD’s song Cascade are filled with themes of perseverance, hope, and the undeniable resilience of the human spirit. The opening lines describe the aftermath of a catastrophic event – possibly referring to a natural disaster or some other form of destructive force – that leaves the world in ruins. Despite the destruction, the singer emphasizes the importance of keeping oneself moving forward, reminding the listener that it is never too late to start anew.
The chorus speaks to the power of community and support in times of hardship. The message is clear: no one can stand alone in the face of adversity. The lyrics directly address the listener, reassuring them that they will never be failed by those around them. The verses also touch on the idea of personal redemption, with the singer acknowledging their inability to save themselves and the need to start fresh.
The repeated line, “Why does God push me away?” may be interpreted in many ways. It could be a philosophical query regarding the existence and meaning of a higher power, or it could be a personal expression of frustration and confusion in the face of hardship. Either way, the lyric adds a poignant layer of emotion to the song and speaks to the universal experience of grappling with forces beyond our control.
