Getting Better
Fab Again Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's getting better all the time
I used to get mad at my school
The teacher's that taught me weren't cool
You're holding me down
Filling me up with your rules

I've got to admit it's getting better
A little better all the time
I have to admit it's getting better
It's getting better since you've been mine

Me used to be angry young man
Me hiding me head in the sand
You gave me the word
I finally heard
I'm doing the best that I can
I've got to admit it's getting better

I used to be cruel to my woman
I beat her and kept apart from the things that she loved
Man I was mean but I'm changing my scene
And I'm doing the best that I can

I admit it's getting better
A little better all the time

Yes I admit it's getting better
It's getting better since you've been mine...

Overall Meaning

Fab Again's song "Getting Better" is a powerful narration of someone who has grown and is now acknowledging the improvements in their life. The beginning of the song speaks to a time when the person is unhappy with their school experience. They did not feel understood or appreciated by their teachers and felt constrained by the rules. However, as time goes by, the person grows, and everything starts to improve. The repetition of the phrase "I've got to admit it's getting better" reinforces the idea that the person has moved past their difficulties and is now thriving.

The second verse delves deeper into the emotional journey that the person has taken. The use of the phrase "angry young man" suggests that the person was once filled with anger and frustration. It is likely that this had been impacting their mental and emotional well-being. The person describes hiding their head in the sand, which indicates that they had not been facing their problems head-on. The turning point comes when someone they care about, possibly a partner, helps them find their voice and guides them towards a positive change.

The final verse is a sobering confession of how the person had hurt their partner in the past. These lyrics are an acknowledgment of previous mistakes and a declaration of change. It is inspiring to see how the person has managed to transform their attitude, behavior, and relationship with others. The song ends on an optimistic note, with the acknowledgment that life is better because of the love that they have found.

One of my favourite moments in the whole series. She gets caught up in her own little world then realises she is lost haha. Only Eddie!

Thanks for uproading, I really love this funny skiing part, glad to see again ! It's a pity that you're missing the very last 10 or 20 seconds or so...

urbanotter 1968

thanks for the thanks ;-)

urbanotter 1968

I didn't capture the very ending as I personally didn't like it - together with what I did capture. And if you look closely at the non-captured actual ending there are some filming errors anyway - footprints & ski-mark missmatches, etc.

Groovy Anchovy

Oh, I understand ! It's all right ! I just remembered it was funny that woman on the skiing lift drinking wine still going around in the dark...

urbanotter 1968
