Already well-known for a local fan base, Faber Drive released a limited edition three-song EP under the band name Faber. Due to legal issues, the band changed their name to Faber Drive.
Discovered by Nickelback's Chad Kroeger, and signed to his 604 Records label, Faber Drive released their debut album, Seven Second Surgery, on May 1, 2007.
The first single from Seven Second Surgery is "Second Chance", and the second single is "Tongue Tied".
The third single "When I'm With You" was previewed a month before it was released on Canadian gossip website isthishappening.com.
Faber Drive's "Second Chance" won a 2008 Canadian Radio Music Award for Best New Hot AC Band of The Year.
The second album by Faber Drive, "Can't Keep a Secret", is set to release on November 10, 2009. The first single from the album, "G-Get Up and Dance!" has now released on radio and iTunes. The second single from the album, "Give Him Up" has been released on radio and iTunes.
The Payoff
Faber Drive Lyrics

Payoff, payoff,
This is the payoff, payoff,
Now that we're on top, we won't stop (Won't stop!),
Doing what we do is a dream come true
We're never gonna give it up
We're never gonna stop, this is the payoff,
(Can't stop, won't stop, won't stop, can't stop)
(Can't stop, won't stop, no we won't stop)
Remember when you got your first drum set?
And how we used to practice in the basement,
When I was singing like Billie Joe (Don't wanna be an American Idiot)
Summer time came with the concert
McDonald's wouldn't let me book it off work
So I called in sick in the night of the show,
The crowd was screaming encore
This is the payoff, payoff,
Now that were on top, we won't stop (Won't stop!)
Doing what we do is a dream come true
We're never gonna give it up
We're never gonna stop
It's the payoff
(Can't stop, won't stop, won't stop)
The payoff
(Can't stop, won't stop, no we won't stop)
Soon enough we went and got a tour bus,
All the girls were screaming just to, touch us
They all wanted to take us home
Now everywhere we look, we see our faces
But we know that well never let that change us
Til Oprah lets us play on her show (Play on the, play on the show),
The crowd will scream out encore
This is the payoff, payoff,
Now that were on top we won't stop (Won't stop!)
Doing what we do is a dream come true
We're never gonna give it up
We're never gonna stop
It's the payoff, payoff,
We only get one shot, one shot (One shot!)
Gotta take that chance and make it last
Never gonna give it up,
We're never gonna stop
It's the payoff
We will, rock you
We're gonna scream it out with the crowd tonight,
We will, rock you
Everybody singing every word from every line
We will, rock you (Rock you)
We just (We just) got to,
This is everything we've ever dreamed of,
Remembering getting drunk around the campfire?
Writing stupid songs about becoming rockstars
We never ever thought it would go this far,
This is the payoff, payoff,
Now that were on top we won't stop (Won't stop!)
Doing what we do is a dream come true
We're never gonna give it up
We're never gonna stop
This is the payoff, payoff,
Now that we're on top, we won't stop (Won't stop!)
Gotta take that chance,
To make it last,
We're never gonna give it up,
We're never gonna stop
This is the payoff
(Can't stop, won't stop, won't stop, no, we can't stop).
The song "The Payoff" by Faber Drive celebrates the success of the band after years of hard work and dedication. The song opens with the repetition of the word "payoff," which represents the reward they have finally received for their efforts. The chorus makes it clear that they will not give up, won't stop, and will continue to do what they love. They believe that their success is a dream come true and are grateful for every opportunity they have. The line "Remember when you got your first drum set?" alludes to the early days of the band when they were just starting and highlights the importance of hard work and perseverance. The mention of having to call in sick in order to perform at their first major show also shows how committed they were to their dreams.
As the song progresses, it becomes apparent that Faber Drive's success brought them not only fame but material rewards. They now have a tour bus and are recognized wherever they go. Despite this, they remain humble and focused on their goals. The lyrics talk about the importance of taking chances and making the most of the opportunities they have. They want to continue to perform and rock their audiences like they did in their early days at the campfire. The song ends with the repetition of "Can't stop, won't stop," emphasizing their determination to keep going.
Overall, "The Payoff" celebrates the rewards of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. It shows that success is possible if you believe in yourself and work hard towards your dreams.
