Kissin' and Twistin'
Fabian Lyrics

Every time I took her to a dance
But since she started twistin'
Now I never even get a chance
I wanna get some lovin'
But I find I'm in an awful fix
'Cause twistin' and kissin'
Are two things that just don't mix
Can't mix twistin' and kissin'
Yeah yeah my face is red
When I aim for her lips
I kiss the back of her head
She looks like a yogi
As she's twistin' and a spinnin' about
The song "Kissin' and Twistin'" by Fabian tells the story of a man who used to enjoy kissing his girlfriend every time they went dancing. But ever since she started twistin', he can't seem to get a kiss in. The man is frustrated and wants to find a way to get some affection from his girlfriend. However, he finds himself in an awkward situation because twistin' and kissin' are two things that just don't mix. He tries to kiss her and ends up kissing the back of her head, which leaves him red-faced and embarrassed. The girlfriend is so engrossed in her twistin' and spinnin' that she doesn't even notice her boyfriend's attempts at affection.
The lyrics in this song represent a common sentiment felt by many people who struggle to connect with their partners on the dance floor. Sometimes, one person wants to dance a certain way while the other wants to dance differently or show affection in a different way. It's a reminder that communication is important in any relationship and that compromise is key when trying to find common ground.
