Witness
Did you see, can you tell me?
Witness
Was it everything you dreamed about?
Witness
Did you hear, were you listening?
Witness
Reality is up against the wall
Reality is up against the wall
Wall yeah!!
Witness
If nothing moves, nothing changes
Witness
If nothing changes then we fall apart
Witness
If nothing moves, nothing changes
Witness
If nothing changes then we fall apart
If nothing changes then we fall apart
There must be more than this
And nothing moves but everything is coming apart
The lights out, is that better?
Do what you say you will, no news is great news but
Is this equal?
Are we equal?
Are we equal?
Are we equal?
There must be more than this
Witness
Did you see, can you tell me?

Was it everything you dreamed about?
Witness
Did you hear, were you listening?
Witness
Reality is up against the wall
Reality is up against the wall
Reality is up against the wall
Wall!
It's all the same (it's all the same)
What's a place if it's not right here?
And you don't want to be blamed (don't want to be blamed)
It's easier if you just say nothing
It's all the same (it's all the same)
Everything used to be so simple
You just want to go back (you just want to go back)
Back to the way things used to be

The lyrics of Fact's song Witness revolve around the idea that if nothing changes, we fall apart. The singer questions whether anyone is really listening or paying attention to the reality around them. The repetition of the word "witness" emphasizes the importance of being aware and present in the world. The lyrics also touch upon the idea of longing for a simpler time when everything was easy and straightforward.
The lyrics of "Witness" also allude to the feeling of being stuck in a rut or feeling like everything is falling apart. The line "nothing moves but everything is coming apart" paints a picture of stagnation, as if the world is frozen in time while everything else falls apart. The last few lines of the song hammer home the idea that if we don't make changes, we will fall apart.
Overall, the song is a call to action, reminding listeners that we all have a responsibility to pay attention to the world around us and work towards creating positive change.
