For those interested in this kind of thing, the tunes are:

1) Miss Susan Cooper – Shetland reel.
2) The Frieze Breeches – Irish jig.
3) The New Claret – Scottish slip jig (sometime later it made its way to Ireland and became The Sport of the Chase).
4) Mrs Power – tune by Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738); aka Carolan’s Concerto.

You're right. There aren't many that can hold a candle to Dave Mattacks. He makes the incredibly difficult sound easy

Listen very carefully to the superb drumming...... Mattacks at his best

Another unreal medley! Wonderful.

Great version of Carolans Concerto as the last piece on here

Mattacks is also a lot of fun to watch while he's playing.

First half is a reel called ' Miss Susan Cooper' With Swarbrick and Pegg playing Mandolin in unison for most of it. Fantastic. Check out Live at Maidstone 1970 video. Excellent.
