Fairuz was born Nouhad Haddad in Jabal al Arz, Lebanon. She began her musical career as a teenager. From chorus girl at the Lebanese radio station in the late 1940s, to critical and popular acclaim from the 1950s to today, Fairuz is acknowledged not only for her musical talent and contribution, but also as a cultural and political icon. A symbol of a people, a heritage, a quest for peace, and of humanity. During most of her career, Fairuz reflected two other great artists, Assi and Mansour Rahbani. They wrote the lyrics and composed her tunes. Today, many of her songs reflect the composing talent of Ziad Rahbani who is Fairuz's son. Her songs testify to the Rahbani musical genius, as well as to Fairuz's broad musical background. Referred to as "The Soul of Lebanon" in the 1970s, Fairuz became a pre-eminent figure, a superstar of current music in the Arab world. Together, the Rahbani family is both a school of music and a cultural phenomenon.

The song "Kbiril Mazha Hay" by Fairuz starts with the lyrics "At the end of the night, you say you love me. Or maybe not, maybe you don't love me." These words express the uncertainty and insecurity of the singer about the sincerity of the love expressed by her partner. She is confused and doesn't know how to interpret his gestures or words. This sense of doubt is reinforced in the following verses: "I don't know how you feel, and you don't know what I feel. I don't know if you love me, and you don't know if you're really in love." This sense of confusion and doubt is further amplified by the fact that the singer is already old and she cannot afford to play games anymore.
The chorus of the song is a plea to her partner to love her genuinely and unconditionally. She repeats the phrase "Love me, just love me" several times, emphasizing the importance of true and honest love. Through these lyrics, the singer expresses her yearning for a deep and meaningful connection that is not based on pretense or deceit.
