Fairuz was born Nouhad Haddad in Jabal al Arz, Lebanon. She began her musical career as a teenager. From chorus girl at the Lebanese radio station in the late 1940s, to critical and popular acclaim from the 1950s to today, Fairuz is acknowledged not only for her musical talent and contribution, but also as a cultural and political icon. A symbol of a people, a heritage, a quest for peace, and of humanity. During most of her career, Fairuz reflected two other great artists, Assi and Mansour Rahbani. They wrote the lyrics and composed her tunes. Today, many of her songs reflect the composing talent of Ziad Rahbani who is Fairuz's son. Her songs testify to the Rahbani musical genius, as well as to Fairuz's broad musical background. Referred to as "The Soul of Lebanon" in the 1970s, Fairuz became a pre-eminent figure, a superstar of current music in the Arab world. Together, the Rahbani family is both a school of music and a cultural phenomenon.

Yes'sed Sabahak is a poignant Arabic song by Fairuz that asks the listener to reminisce on a lost love. The song paints a vivid picture of a past where the lovers were happy and the world was green with promise. As the singer asks if you remember the greenery that surrounded them and the birds that chirped, she also wonders if you remember the sweet moments shared between the two. These moments are symbolized by the gentle words spoken by the lover, such as secret promises made by the moon.
As the song progresses, it becomes clear that the singer is trying to reconcile her past with the reality of her present. Although she wishes to reclaim her lost love and the memories that came with it, she is faced with the possibility that it may never come to fruition. The imagery of the moon and the flowers serve as a symbol of hope and promise but ultimately become a reminder of what was lost. The chorus repeats the question of whether their love will return, but the answer remains unknown.
Overall, Yes'sed Sabahak can be interpreted as a beautiful and melancholic reflection on love and loss. The lyrics are poetic and full of rich imagery that evokes a sense of nostalgia for times gone by. The song harkens back to an era of simplicity and youthfulness, where love was all-encompassing and the world was full of possibilities.
