Faith No More is an American alternative metal band from San Francisco, Cal… Read Full Bio ↴Faith No More is an American alternative metal band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on the current name in July 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum and drummer Mike Bordin are the longest-remaining members of the band, having been involved since its inception. The band underwent several early lineup changes, and some major changes later. The current lineup of Faith No More consists of Gould, Bordin, Bottum, lead guitarist Jon Hudson, and vocalist/lyricist Mike Patton.

After releasing six studio albums, including best-selling records The Real Thing (1989) and Angel Dust (1992), Faith No More officially announced its breakup on April 20, 1998. The band has since reunited, conducting The Second Coming Tour between 2009 and 2010, and releasing its seventh studio album, Sol Invictus, in May 2015. After the touring cycle of Sol Invictus, Faith No More went on hiatus once again. In November 2019, the band announced that it would reunite to embark on a 2020 UK and European tour, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this was postponed. Touring was due to recommence with a brief US tour in September 2021, followed by the previously postponed UK and Europe dates in June 2022, but all tour dates were cancelled with Patton citing mental health reasons.

To anyone who discovered them after seeing GOTG 3, please consider checking their other stuff. They're probably one of the greatest bands from the 80's-90's, but they also started to get kinda underrated in the last few years so it's nice to see that people are rediscovering them thanks to this track.
I would recommend their albums The Real Thing (1989) and Angel Dust (1992) to start with, but all of them are excellent!

Eh, I politely (but strongly) disagree. While Chuck had the persona of a great front man, it's not even close with the vocals. Patton is a far, far better vocalist (Mike is actually a phenomenal singer), and just as good of a front man.
Chuck was ok, but that's about it. Mike is the voice of FNM, and is just better in every realm.
Course that's just my opinion.

Being a teenager in Tucson in the 80's, we didn't have a lot of options for cool music. We really had to dig around and mix tapes were copied and passed out like candy. There was one option for good radio. Sunday nights on KLPX (rock station) they played a show called Virgin Vinyl. VV would feature all kinds of obscure rock/punk that you couldn't find elsewhere. I would stay up many sunday nights with my finger poised on the record button. VV was where I first heard this song and bands like Butthole Surfers, Al Perry and the Cattle, Concrete Blonde and so many other bands I don't even recall anymore. What I care about is that great snare sound. Mike Bordin absolute legend and I met the geezer and he was really nice too. Also they managed to be great with two different vocalists which doesn’t happen very often.

I still remember hearing the original version with the lyrics about the smurfs, madonna and mr t, but I think the Introduce Yourself version is a LOT better and made many mix tape/mix cd back in the day. Love the song RnR, and Introduce Yourself (the song) is just fun.
