I wanna see your soul
Running through that door
I've got a seed to sow
Hey, come on let's go
I wanna see your soul
Running through that door
Hey, come on let's go
I wanna see your soul
Are you running through that door?
Are you running through that door?
Oh, the sand, sand, sand
The sand scratches my face
While the tears tears tears
They fall in my embrace
And the waves crash down
Where the rocks meet the sand
Why do none of these fears come out on dry land?
Just when I'm drowning, just when I'm drowning
Hey, hey, come on, let's go
I wanna see your soul
Running through that door
I've got a seed to sow
Hey, come on let's go
I wanna see your soul
And I howl, howl, howl
As you roll down the stairs
Yeah, the light crashes in
I don't blame you not being there
And the round, round, round
You came right round my place
In the half light
I can't see what I can't face
You look like you're drowning
I look like I'm drowning
Oh, the sand, sand, sand
The sand scratches my hand
And the tears tears tears
Keep falling where I stand
Yeah, the waves crash down
Where the rocks meet my face
Why do none of these fears come out?
Help find this place
Just when I'm drowning
You look like you're drowning
Hey come on let's go
In the cold light
It doesn't feel right
In the cold light
It doesn't feel right
You're the cruel, cool, cool, cool light on my face
You're the cruel, cool, cool, cool light on my face
You're the cruel, cool, cool, cool light on my face
You're the cruel, cool, cool, cool light on my face
Yeah, the sand, sand, sand
The sand scratches my hand
And your tears tears tears
They keep falling where I stand
While the waves crash down
Where the rocks meet my face
Why do none of these fears come out
Come find this place
You look like you're drowning
I look like I'm drowning
You look you're drowning
I look like I'm drowning
Hey, hey, come on, let's go
The lyrics of Faker's song Death Beach Party evoke a sense of desperation and helplessness as the singer grapples with the overwhelming emotions that accompany personal struggles. The repeated line "Hey, come on let's go, I wanna see your soul running through that door, I've got a seed to sow" suggests the singer's need for connection and desire to help others, even as they struggle themselves. The references to sand, tears, and drowning, as well as the refrain "You look like you're drowning, I look like I'm drowning," create a vivid picture of the singer's emotional state and highlight the universal experience of feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges.
As the song continues, the sense of repetition and urgency intensifies with the repeated lines "Oh, the sand, sand, sand" and "And the tears, tears, tears they keep falling where I stand." The imagery of the waves crashing down and the rocks meeting the sand add to the sense of turmoil and chaos. The final lines, "You're the cruel, cool, cool, cool light on my face," suggest a sense of resignation and acceptance of the pain that the singer is experiencing.
Overall, Death Beach Party is a powerful representation of emotional struggle and the search for connection and meaning in difficult times.
