Bassist, Eddie Silver, took the long trek from New Zealand to follow his calling. Local boy, Jay Sayne, on lead guitar met Edwin at an Aerosmith concert and quickly realized that they had a future in music together. When the two were looking for the best players to complete the package, along came Tim and Jeff. After repeated failed attempts at connecting over email, it seemed they would never meet. The unlikely union of these four artists would eventually come to life and Fallen Heirs seemed to form with ease. In their first jam session, each member found his creative energy feeding the next and two songs were written after only a few hours.
Today, Fallen Heirs is a hard-hitting, hard-rock band whose organic sound is fresh and new. The first single, Take It Slow, is available as a free download… find out more, here. www.fallenheirs.com
Take It Slow
Fallen Heirs Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I know its cold, yeah!
Cause my heart is just like yours
A black hole in the sky, yeah!
That peels back and shadows over...
Over top above everybody
CHORUS
Take, take it slow
My brain is in overload, yeah
Take, take it slow
I'm afraid I'll explode....
VERSE 2
There is a storm, yeah!
Deep inside of everyone
Its just a matter of time, yeah
Before its triggered and you're the one..
On the edge swinging fists instead
CHORUS
Take, take it slow
My brain is in overload, yeah
Take, take it slow
I'm afraid I'll explode....
BRIDGE
Take, take it slow
Take, take it slow
Take, take it slow
Take, take it SLOW.....
SOLO
CHORUS
Take, take it slow
My brain is in overload, yeah
Take, take it slow
I'm afraid I'll explode....
The song “Take It Slow” by Fallen Heirs talks about the importance of slowing down and taking a breath when things get overwhelming. The first verse compares the coldness of the heart to that of the weather, emphasizing that our emotions and mental state impact how we feel physically. The lyrics continue to describe a black hole in the sky that “shadows over” everyone, implying that we all have our struggles and issues to deal with.
The chorus emphasizes the need to take things slow, as the brain can become overwhelmed and lead to an explosion (either metaphorical or physical). Verse two describes a storm that’s within all of us, waiting to be triggered and cause us to react with fists instead of a level head. The bridge repeats the chorus, emphasizing the need to slow down and stay calm.
Overall, “Take It Slow” is a reminder for listeners to take care of themselves mentally and emotionally, and to avoid negative reactions by remaining calm and collected.
