Fallulah Lyrics

Look at my blade
Shiny and sharp, now do you wanna dance?
Gory, just like a movie I've seen
I watch them drown
A king and a prom queen that never got found
Maybe you'll stay behind when I'm not asleep
I'm in too deep, I'm in too deep, oh is this real?
House on the hill where you go to get killed
House on the hill where you go to get killed
Fully, fully awake in a dream
I watch myself from the outside
Digging and hiding, I still hear their screams
Don't go with me, don't go with me, don't go with me
Maybe you'll stay behind when I'm not asleep
I'm in too deep, I'm in too deep, oh is this real?
House on the hill where you go to get killed
House on the hill where you go to get killed
Pulling me under, under
under my cover, cover
Pulling me under, under
under my cover, cover
Don't go with me, don't go with me, don't go with me
Maybe you'll stay behind when I'm not asleep
I'm in too deep, I'm in too deep, oh is this real?
House on the hill where you go to get killed
Don't go with me, don't go with me, don't go with me
Maybe you'll stay behind when I'm not asleep
I'm in too deep, I'm in too deep, oh is this real?
House on the hill where you go to get killed
House on the hill where you go to get killed
House on the hill where you go to get killed
House on my hill where you go to get killed
The lyrics of Fallulah's song "Mares" describe a disturbing scenario in which the singer seems to be contemplating murder. The opening lines, "Sorry, I'm standing with your head in my hands, look at my blade, shiny and sharp, now do you wanna dance?" evoke a sense of horror, as the singer holds a weapon over someone's head. The lyrics go on to describe a location referred to as the "house on the hill" where the singer says "you go to get killed."
The chorus repeats the refrain "Don't go with me, maybe you'll stay behind when I'm not asleep. I'm in too deep, oh is this real?" This line could be interpreted as the singer acknowledging the disturbing nature of her thoughts and actions, but feeling unable to stop herself. The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the sense of urgency and desperation in the situation.
The second verse describes the singer as being fully awake in a dream, watching herself from the outside as she digs and hides, still hearing the screams of her victims. The bridge section features the repeated phrases "Pulling me under, under, under my cover, cover."
Overall, the lyrics of "Mares" portray a disturbing image of a person struggling with violent thoughts and impulses, imagining themselves capable of committing murder. The repeated references to a "house on the hill" serve as a sinister backdrop for this disturbing imagery.
