Only Human
Fallulah Lyrics

Never enough, why must they stare?
(stare, stare, stare, stare)
Here is the love, at least for a day
Runs out like food, when you can’t pay
I’m looking the part, but I’m lacking the heart
Is there a reason that I shouldn’t tell you right from the start?
Is there a reason that I shouldn’t tell you right from the start?
Don’t come near me, I am only human
Don’t come near me, I am only human
Don’t come near me, I am only human
(don’t come near her, don’t you know she’s only human?)
Don’t come near me, I am only human
(don’t come near her, don’t you know she’s only human?)
Here is the love, don’t point it at me
Making me feel, the things I should be
(be, be, be, be)
Here is the love, it’s here in the crowd
(crowd you’re loud)
Getting too close, I need to get out
I need to get out
Don’t come near me, I am only human
Don’t come near me, I am only human
(don’t, don’t, don’t)
Don’t come near me, I am only human
(don’t come near her, don’t you know she’s only human?)
Don’t come near me, I am only human
(don’t come near her, don’t you know she’s only human?)
The lyrics of Fallulah's song "Only Human" explore the vulnerability of the human condition in relation to love and the intense scrutiny that often comes with it. In the first verse, the singer explains how love can be fleeting, running out like food when one can no longer afford it. There is a sense of frustration and inadequacy as the singer wonders why people stare and whether love is ever enough. This is juxtaposed with the chorus, which almost seems like a plea for space and privacy. The singer acknowledges the limitations of being human and the need for distance.
The second verse delves deeper into this theme of inadequacy, with the singer describing herself as looking the part but lacking the heart. There is a sense of internal conflict as the singer wonders whether she should reveal her true self from the start. However, this conflict is resolved in the chorus, where the singer asserts her humanity and the need for boundaries.
Overall, the lyrics of "Only Human" are a poignant exploration of the complexities of human emotions and relationships, and the need for self-preservation in the face of intense scrutiny.
