Strange what desire will make foolish people do.
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you.
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you.
No, I don't wanna fall in love
No, I don't wanna fall in love
With you
What a wicked game to play, to make me feel this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to let me dream of you.
What a wicked thing to say, you never felt this way.
What a wicked thing to do, to make me dream of you and
I don't wanna fall in love
No, I don't wanna fall in love
With you
Boys are only gonna break your heart
Boys are only gonna break your heart
Boys are only gonna break your heart
Boys are only gonna break your heart
Boys are only gonna break your heart
Boys are only gonna break your heart
Boys are only gonna break your heart
Boys are only gonna break your heart
The world was on fire and no one could save me but you.
Strange what desire will make foolish people do.
I never dreamed that I'd love somebody like you.
And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
No, I don't wanna fall in love
Boys are only gonna break your heart
No, I don't wanna fall in love
Boys are only gonna break your heart
With you
Boys are only gonna break your heart
Boys are only gonna break your heart
With you
Boys are only gonna break your heart
Boys are only gonna break your heart
With you
The lyrics to Fallulah’s song “Wicked Game” explore the tumultuous experience of falling in love. The opening line of the song sets the stage for a world that is burning, which is a metaphor for the intense and overwhelming emotions associated with falling in love. The singer acknowledges that desire can lead people to do foolish things, which is a clear indication of her awareness of the risks she is taking when giving her heart away to someone else.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the singer’s inner turmoil as she declares that she does not want to fall in love. This sentiment is repeated throughout the song and is a reflection of the singer’s fear of getting hurt. The lyrics suggest that the person she has fallen for has the power to make her feel a certain way that she does not want to experience. The use of the word “wicked” in the chorus highlights the complex dynamic between love and pain, showing that they are two sides of the same coin.
The final verse of the song suggests that despite the risks and fears of falling in love, the singer still yearns for connection and intimacy. The repetition of the line “Boys are only gonna break your heart” in the outro underscores the singer’s cynicism towards love and relationships. Still, the fact that she uses the word “only” implies that she has been hurt before and that she is wary of being hurt again. The song tells a multi-layered story of love, pain, and desire, illuminating the complexities of human relationships.
