You Don't Care

And he said, come on we gotta leave
And I said, not this time
I no longer believe
He left me standing there
And I knew I should no longer care
But I wanted him to turn and say he believed
I miss that feeling
I got it somewhere
I miss that feeling
But now you don't care
We do it all the time
Repair the broken line
Inside this head of mine
Won't you be so kind and help me?
The sun has lost its charm
It don't radiate or make me warm
I've felt the chilly winds come closer
Since he was gone
And on and on he goes
now it's not longer just for show
I heard it now from everyone
I know he moved on
I miss that feeling
I've got it somewhere
I miss that feeling
But now you don't care
You don't care
You don't care
You don't care
You don't care
You don't care, you don't care
You don't care, you don't care
You don't care, you don't care
You don't care
He is the bittersweet in me
A straight connection to my knees
I may be whole, but not complete
Or so it seems
And if he's coming back someday
I hope I'll find the words to say
I'll make him stay until I believe
I miss that feeling
I've got it somewhere
I miss that feeling
But now you don't care
We do it all the time
Repair the broken line
Inside this head of mine
Won't you be so kind and help me?
The song "You Don't Care" by Fallulah tells the story of a woman who is dealing with the aftermath of a breakup. She is confronted by her former lover who tries to convince her to leave with him, but she refuses. However, she is still struggling with her feelings and desperately wants him to believe in their love and return to her.
The lyrics draw attention to the fact that just because someone leaves, it doesn't mean that their feelings disappear. This is highlighted by the repeated line "I miss that feeling, I've got it somewhere," suggesting that the emotions she once shared with her partner are still accessible and she longs to feel them again.
The chorus "You don't care" reinforces the idea that the relationship has ended and she is left alone to deal with the heartache. The bridge "He is the bittersweet in me" notes the complex emotions she experiences and the impact the relationship had on her. The lyrics have a raw and honest quality that speaks to anyone who has been through a breakup and the aftermath.
