1.Far is a band from Sacramento, USA, spawned from the same local scene as the Deftones, their former touring partners.
2.Far is a band from Serbia, widely known as the performers of the soundtrack 'Sve sto zelim u ovom trenutku' from the TV series 'Sivi Dom' - track on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOeMr6HubJI
1. After a number of local releases including their first demo tape Sweat A River , Live No Lies (1991) and an album Listening Game (1992) they signed to Epic/Immortal Records and released their first major record, Tin Cans With Strings To You.
Their second album, Water & Solutions, was released in 1998 and attracted a cult following. The more melodic sound showcased on this album is increasingly cited as an influence on present-day emo rock bands by the rock press, ie: Thursday, Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World. Certainly it was a departure from their earlier, much more hardcore sound (although it is still far from the emo-pop that it would quickly come to inspire).
Since their 1999 split, the former members of Far have been involved in a number of projects, often quite experimental in nature. Frontman Jonah Matranga especially went on to form the now defunct band New End Original and continue his solo project Onelinedrawing. Matranga "broke up" Onelinedrawing in August of 2004. In 2005 the singer's new band Gratitude released their debut self-titled record on Atlantic Records. Gratitude however called it a day towards the end of 2005, playing their last US Tour before splitting in December 2005.
In 2008 the band reformed and toured the UK with a new single being posted on their Myspace. On March 2nd 2009, Vagrant announced that they had signed Far, and that the would be releasing their fifth studio, titled At Night We Live, through them in 2010.
In 2010 lead singer Jonah Matranga revealed in an interview that Far had once again split.

Far Lyrics

Your wish came true today
Robbed on crosses, studied stars
Wished to be somewhere better
Then where you were
Well here you are. Are you happy?
Had enough? I tried, I swear
It was more that I could bear
Stick the needle in it's not enough
yet... I want love and I dont want
to care. You want love and you
don't want to care? What?
The lyrics to Far's song Quick are reflective of someone who is dissatisfied with their current situation and has been wishing for a change. The first two lines "You had enough yet? Your wish came true today" suggest that the person has finally had enough of their current situation and a change has occurred, although it's not clear if this change is positive or negative. The next two lines "Robbed on crosses, studied stars" could be interpreted as the person feeling like they have experienced some kind of suffering or hardship, but have also been seeking answers or a way out. The line "Wished to be somewhere better then where you were, well here you are. Are you happy?" could be seen as self-reflection and questioning whether the person is truly happy with where they are now, even though it's what they wished for.
The chorus "Had enough? I tried, I swear. It was more than I could bear. Change the changes, fix me quick. Stick the needle in it's not enough yet... I want love and I don't want to care. You want love and you don't want to care? What?" suggests frustration and a desire for change, but also confusion and perhaps a feeling of being stuck. The line "Change the changes, fix me quick" implies that the person wants something to change, but may not know what specifically needs to be fixed. The following line "Stick the needle in it's not enough yet" could refer to either a physical or emotional pain that needs to be numbed, but even that is not enough to satisfy the person's desire for love and connection. The last line "You want love and you don't want to care? What?" is a question directed at the listener, asking if they can relate to the conflicting desires of wanting love but not wanting to be vulnerable or hurt.
Overall, the song Quick reflects the themes of dissatisfaction, yearning for change, and wanting love and connection but struggling with vulnerability and fear of getting hurt. The lyrics can be interpreted in different ways and may resonate with listeners who have experienced similar feelings.
