Zabrania się marzyć
Skasować pamięć
Sen jest zakazany
Tylko marsz... i arbeit!
Tylko marsz... i arbeit!
Marszarbeit!
Myślenie zabija
Zabrania się myśleć
Zatrzymać czas
Słuchać i milczeć
Tylko marsz... i arbeit!
Tylko marsz... i arbeit!
Marszarbeit!
Zwątpienie i krzyk
Nie czuję już nic
Dalej iść!
Aż starczy sił
Tylko marsz... i arbeit!
Tylko marsz... i arbeit!
Marszarbeit!
The lyrics to Farben Lehre's song "Marszarbeit" seem to touch on themes of oppression and totalitarianism. The phrases "Marzenie to zło" and "Zabrania się marzyć" suggest that dreaming and imagination are forbidden, while "Skasować pamięć" ("erase memory") implies that the ruling power wants to control what people remember. The lines "Myślenie zabija" ("thinking kills") and "Zabrania się myśleć" ("thinking is forbidden") further reinforce the idea that there is strict censorship and control over the thoughts and beliefs of the people. The only options left are to march ("marsz") and work ("arbeit"), both of which are repeated throughout the song.
There is a sense of bleakness and hopelessness in the lyrics, as the repeated chorus of "Marszarbeit" suggests that there is no escape from this dystopian reality. The lines "Zwątpienie i krzyk/Nie czuję już nic" ("doubt and scream/I no longer feel anything") convey a sense of despair and numbness. However, the final line "Aż starczy sił" ("until there's no strength left") could be interpreted as a call to keep fighting and resisting despite the oppressive regime.
